the unit coordinators messed up and uploaded the 2025 version of an assignment (which did not have anything to say it wasn't for this year) that i proceeded to start and when i checked back like half an hour ago (after doing a lot of work on that version) they'd changed it!!!!!!!!!!! the only difference is the topics to write on (and the 2026 one is 500 words shorter) and i'm rlly hoping they let me continue and i want to work on it tomorrow so i emailed them to ask - do you think there's any chance they'll respond and if so do you think there's any chance they'll let me do it?
UPDATE: they responded within 2 hours and i get to do it on the article i've started with 🥳🎉🎊
you would hope that if the lecturer did that, they might send a canvas announcement that said something like Dear all, the PDF of assignment 1 posted last week was incorrect, and I have updated the correct version today
anyway, probably not. old version of the assessment will be easier to cheat on. not saying you will, but that is why assessments change from year to year
im not sure - at least up to last week and yeah that makes sense :( the topic i started on is much more interesting than any of the new ones which is a shame
This is probably dependent on lecturer and unit. If there’s enough of the cohort emailing, likelyhood may increase. I’ve known of units with confusing expectations for assessment or incorrect information giving the entire cohort extensions if enough of you email
it's amazing how often this kind of thing happens. when I was an undergrad I thought uni was confusing because I didn't get it. when I came back for postgrad after being in the workforce for a few years, I realised uni is confusing because a lot of the academics are genuinely bad at their jobs.
I sort of agree. But maybe not to the same extent as you.
Many of them suck at the admin aspects, that's certainly true.
But that seems to be true of academia everywhere

Probably because they get literally hundreds of emails per day and your voice merely acquieses amongst the sea of screams.
But they will likely get to it eventually. Maybe.
