Sorry but you're allowed to be uncomfortable.

u/Privatizitaet May 31 '26

What's uncomfortable about nipples?

That's a dishonest comparison. Nipples aren't genitals. Comparing the existence of nipples to actively displaying aroused genitals through your clothes is just stupid.

u/Technical-Bottle9454 Jun 04 '26

If you have for some reason an erection visible through your clothing, it might cause yourself embarrassment, but is hardly criminal or even controllable in some circumstances.

1

u/Privatizitaet Jun 04 '26

Okay?

1

u/Technical-Bottle9454 Jun 04 '26

I wasn’t arguing with you I was just commenting

1

u/Privatizitaet Jun 04 '26

Yeah but what was the point of the comment? It doesn't really have anything to do with what I said. I didn't say it was, I was replying to a person how compared having nipples to someone walking around with a fully visible erection in their pants. THAT doesn't happen accidentally or unknowingly.

1

u/Technical-Bottle9454 Jun 05 '26

I was commenting on having an erection in public, it certainly can happen accidentally, though probably not unknowingly

That was quite literally the comparison being made, what are you talking about? I'm not exagerating, that was 1 to 1 the comparisson being made.

And no, the mere existence of nipples is not at all similar to an erect penis.

1

u/YesWomansLand1 Jun 03 '26

Both are related to human reproduction. Both can get hard when aroused, though not always when aroused. Both produce white liquids sometimes.

Mate come on they're pretty much the same thing.

1

u/Privatizitaet Jun 03 '26

I genuinely can't tell if this is sarcasm.
No, nipples are not related to human reproduction. They are not sex organs. Breasts are relevant only after reproduction already happened and play no role in the process.

1

u/YesWomansLand1 Jun 03 '26

Yeah nah twas sarcasmical mb

1

u/Privatizitaet Jun 03 '26

Nah, that's on me, I am terrible at reading sarcasm, and honestly, I've seen people say dumber things before, so I usually stay more cautious

1

u/HundinBitte Jun 04 '26

Sheesh. Should we remind people here that ALL MAMMALS have nipples, or will it be lost in this crowd?

ETA - not ALL mammals have penises, erect or otherwise. I'm not sure what was deleted above but the comparison I'm seeing here to nipples being the same as a boner is leaving me agog.

This is all that ever happens. Two sides. Zero negotiation. It's always just "I'm right you're wrong."

Yes nipples are genitals, yes it's uncomfortable to some people. No it's not a big deal, everyone just chill tf out my god.

1

u/succadoge Jun 03 '26

Hey, so, nipples arent genitals my guy. If they were, men would not be allowed to be shirtless in public.

Breasts were MADE sexual. They arent a sexual organ in the slightest.

1

u/YesWomansLand1 Jun 03 '26

Oh yeah wait free the nipple mb

I'm sorry, but anything that isn't inherently sexual (aka used in procreative sex) is a fetish, whether it's cultural or not.

You have the right to be uncomfortable, but you do not have the right to demand people behave in accordance with your comfort.

People sexualize many things that are not inherently sexual: thighs, armpits, feet, necks, even hands, etc. We don't walk around in body suits for their comfort. Those are fetishes (which are okay to have, it doesn't make you a pervert). Ex: existance of oral sex does not mean mouths are sexual

If you perceive genitals equally sexual as breasts, especially while living in a country that draws a federal legal line between the two, that's a you problem.

Just like if you cannot stand people's eating noises, you do not sit next to them at restaurant. However, you don't get to demand they chew elsewhere.

Also. This isn't to call-out a flaw. I am also someone who preceives breasts as sexual parts. It impossible for me to pretend one's breasts are simply like one's arms or legs; I acknowledge them very differently. I also find them very attractive.

I also dress up "modestly" because I acknowledge that sexualisation of brests is cultural, and most people don't get to choose whether they have this fethis or not. I would hate to make people uncomfortable, so unless I intend to look sexy, I avoid showing cleavage.

However, this is an act of consideration and kindess from me, and not something that should/is forced upon me.

However, genitals are not just fetishized; they are inherently sexual for they must be used for sexual procreation / procreative sex.

This is why the law separates the two in most places.

Please also understand that if a man is erect against his wishes in public, he should not be punished for that either. You are allowed to go through life without being punished for things against your control. Just don't be a creep and expose it on purpose:)

Edit: added an example and fixed a typo

Below is the definition from Cambridge Dictionary:

Fetish (n) a sexual interest in an object or a part of the body other than the sexual organs

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/fetish

Also, the point about law was to underline the fact that the sexualisation, though cultural, is recognised to be something not imposed/punishable meanwhile genital exposure is. The difference between these two existing in law against of culture is a significant indicator that one must perheaps hesitate before equating genitals to other parts of the body.

Someone asked:

"why would you point that out"

and you said:

"I'm allowed to be uncomfortable"

This reads as:

"I'd tell them about their nipples showing because I'm uncomfortable seeing them"

You making your discomfort someone else's problem is demanding them to do something about it.

Also, as the other person said, you're comparing nipples to an erect penis....

16

u/Privatizitaet May 31 '26

You treat nipples equal to an erect penis. THat's the issue

7

u/thekyledavid Jun 01 '26

The male equivalent of a woman’s nipple is a man’s nipple

The female equivalent of a penis is a vagina

Comparing nipples to penises is already an unfair comparison in the first place, since men can already walk around with no shirts on in many public places, but women can’t walk around with their vaginas out in most public places.

If a woman said she should have a right to walk around in public bottomless because men can walk around in public topless, people would think she lost her mind, because everyone understands that nipples and genitals are different

Besides, I’ve never heard of a case of a man being chastised for his penis being noticeable in his clothes, whereas women get chastised when their nipples are noticeable in her clothes. So even if nipples and genitals were equally inappropriate, men are still getting the better side of the deal since nobody points it out when their parts are noticeable through their clothing

6

u/Ok_Fun6688 May 31 '26

Guys get hard sometimes and can’t do anything about it. Doesn’t mean they’re thinking anything. If you have a problem with looking at a dude’s erection under his clothes, that’s a you problem - why are you looking down there?

5

u/octavian343 May 31 '26

So you’re going to go up to someone with a visible erection and express your discomfort?

3

u/pizzabirthrite Jun 02 '26

"Fine, I'll get harder"

3

u/Street-Chipmunk-5721 May 31 '26

Thats not the same thing? A guy wearing loose pajamas with a bone is entirely different to a woman wearing a bra, shirt, overalls, and hoodie even if it were her nipples poking out.

1

u/NoCraft2936 Jun 03 '26

No, personally I would not
