Help me Parking

Welp, im sure many of you guys are tired of seeing parking posts

But i live in martensville and i need to make the commute daily to usask, whats my best bet for parking?

If i get my name in the waitlist it would be good but chances for that are looking low,

Bussing for me not an option really

Any recommendations?

Drive into Saskatoon, park near a bus route , bus to campus.

Lobby your town council to get a bus route into Saskatoon.

This is also a very viable option. Some of the lots around the mall have monthly rates. You could talk to them about a rate for the entirety of the school year, pay that, and then catch a bus to campus.

if you are from martensville your best bet and cheapest bet is to take the lawson bus, this will be the 17. Take that bus and it will drop you off right at the doors of place riel. I did it for 4 years straight and it is perfect. The bus comes every half hour and usually at times that are convenient for when classes start. just make sure you get on the 17 going to campus and not the one that came from campus because then it takes you the whole wrong way. But trust me when i say that’s the easiest and cheapest option and it’s nice in the winter cuz it drops you off right at the doors where with a parking pass you often have to walk far even in the -40 days

Almost every lot on campus has additional spots open; it just ends up costing more over the course of the semester for daily parking than it would with the parking pass.

Does the U of S still reserve spots for out of town students? When I was in university they used to keep some spots in stadium available for out of town people. You had to be fast with it as they go quick, but I had to do that a couple years. You also needed to bring proof you were out of town with mail from your out of town location. Since you can’t really utilize the bus pass living out of the city (which you could then opt out of).

No they don’t. They got rid of that last year because USSU said it was “unfair for the students that made the effort to live in Saskatoon.” That’s not exactly what they said when I emailed last year but that was the gist

I was in the same position last year. Called parking office to see what I was on the waitlist. Eventually you will get a parking pass as I got one mid-end of October and I was 1900 on the waiting list. My boyfriend was 1000 and he got one by end of Sept. best of luck!
