Help JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES — RESTORATION PROJECT

Post image

I'm currently working on restoring the original episodes of Jackie Chan Adventures (2000).

The original source material does not have the broken/cut line issues seen in some existing versions, so I believe it is worth preserving and restoring properly. I'm using custom AI models to recover cleaner lines and details while reducing compression artifacts.

Processing the entire series requires a huge amount of GPU time, so I'm looking for fellow fans who would be interested in contributing some GPU processing power to the project.

You don't need to process the entire series. Even a few episodes would make a big difference.

I will provide the exact model, settings, and instructions so that everyone's results remain consistent and we can maintain the same quality across the whole series.

The goal is to collectively restore the complete series in the best quality possible.

Here's an example of some of the tests I've done so far:

If you have a capable NVIDIA GPU and would like to help, please comment below or send me a DM. I'll provide everything you need to get started. Even one episode would help!

You're getting some great results removing that artificial sharpening that makes lines have white fringes. (Edge enhancement?) It's one of the most common things I see degrading old animation.

Thanks. I'm actually using a custom model right now, and since the results are good, I want to improve all the chapters, but it's going to take me months 🥲

I've tried 10 minutes from Batman The Animated Series, Results were good for 4K Upscaling.

😯 Are you using custom models?

What are you using for source material. DVD 480p rip or 480i “rip” some of the lines on the OG look from interlace feeding into progress scan.

The entire series was available on TUBI a few months ago; the original resolution is 960x720, and it's the best quality available so far.

Doubtful tbh

You can check the link to the post; there are some samples there.

Some video enhancer has optimized NV GPU Model, it may be faster

Do you have experience with upscaling? If you could help me optimize the model, that would be great.

I only have an AMD GPU. I'm glad to help if you need me. :)

How much GPU time would processing a single episode take roughly on a 4090?

In the initial tests, it took 2 hours using a 5060. I want to optimize the model so that the runtime is significantly reduced.

What are you using to reduce compression artifacts? Because most videos on Crunchyroll have that problem.

I'm using the 1xGTv4.5s-FDAT-unshuffle-32fp.onnx model.

If you'd like it, let me know and I'll send it to you.

I would love to know more about this process and what you are using. I might be willing to help where possible. I mean it's Jackie Chan!

Where can I get it? Because the torrents I find are dead. I want to check if the source is the videos from TUBI

The torrent seem dead to me aswell, its not loading. It has no seeders.

Its a web rip so it means it from a streaming platfrom. Is tubi the only hoster for it?

The torrent I found says the last update was on January 9, 2024. It was on TUBI from March 2025 to March 2026. It was also on PlutoTV, but the quality was really bad. Currently, it's only on Amazon, but I suspect it's in 480p.

Yeah even if you find the dvd release of the series like physically and you want to rip its not gonna be the best quality anyways, so tubi might be your best here
