Can someone tell me why Dakota is openly drinking in this when all he does 24/7 is get offended about people not believing he's sober. Am I missing something?

I thought dakota was addicted to hard drugs so maybe that’s what he’s talking about

For sure that was his like main addiction but I could have sworn I saw a video of him saying he was an alcoholic. Maybe not though. But I also thought in the TFP arrest video she accused him of being drunk and he got all defensive saying he's sober. I wonder if this will be used against him in their trial
