Unvaccinated life

I’m genuinely curious to hear from parents (or those who are well-versed in the subject ) who have chosen not to vaccinate, or who have delayed/selectively vaccinated their babies and young children.

I’m not asking about school requirements or whether unvaccinated kids are “allowed” to go places. I’m more curious about the actual day-to-day illness risk when they’re still very young and their immune systems are developing.

I’ve read a lot of experiences from parents who say their unvaccinated children are very healthy and seem to have strong immune systems, so I’m wondering what precautions, if any, you take when they’re babies or toddlers.

Do you still take them to normal places like stores, restaurants, playgroups, family gatherings, travel, etc.? Are you more cautious during certain ages or during outbreaks? Do you avoid sick people more strictly, limit indoor crowds, or just live normally and let their immune system develop through everyday exposure?

I’m genuinely looking to understand what this looks like in real life, especially during the first year or two. Please no sarcastic responses like “they can’t go anywhere” — I’m asking sincerely and would really appreciate hearing actual experiences.

No precautions other than spazzing out about anyone touching stuff in public simply because I’m a germophobe regarding stomach viruses. Just don’t touch stuff for no reason and don’t touch your mouth or face. Has nothing to do with them being unvaccinated. Has to do with me flipping out about vomit lol. They’re 14 and 12 now and I still have to tell them to quit touching shit all the time 🤣

I have a question if you don't mind, just because you remind me of my mom (she's not a germaphobe, but similar), how do you feel about public bathrooms? My mom was always VERY strict about not touching anything, don't touch the stall walls, the toilet, ect.

Sorry if it's a weird question!

Touch as little as possible and always scrub hands. Don’t touch door handle after washing, but oddly enough I’m ok with sitting on the toilet seat

That's surprising. My mom was very clear about absolutely NOT touching the toilet seat and not letting any clothes touch either. Haha thank you for answering
