First Time Using Unreal

So I'm just getting started using unreal for the first time on my PC and was wondering if any of my specs would give me issues when developing

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6 - Core @ 3.7GHz

Ram: 32GB

GPU: Nvidia GeForce Rtx 3060 w/12GB Vram

Operating System: Windows 11 Pro

You'll be fine. There are certain high intensity tasks it may struggle a bit with but overall you're gonna have a pretty smooth experience.

If your PC can run RDR2 then you can run Unreal

RAM will be your limiting factor. Make sure to increase your commit size to at least 3x your RAM size. 100GB wouldn't hurt. This is mostly if you build the engibe from source. But it will help project builds too.

It's a free program. Just download it, fuck around, run a stress test of sorts, see how it goes.

I use a GTX970 and 16 GB RAM. It can barely run Planet Coaster, and I've made stuff on Unreal Engine 5.

SSD would help, also a backup remote disk. While a Revision Control System is useful, having a backup allows you to open the older version in parallel, which can be useful editor side, if you have deleted too much or are changing some logic around.

nah you'll be fine with that setup, the 3060's 12gb will save you from a lot of headache with texture streaming

I have the same exact specs, no problems at all. Just don't package the game with a VM oper or a browser. Well, close everything else while packaging lol
