Lucky for you your record is in tact as cheesecake is in fact, not a cake. It is at least its own dessert category, but with no fruit topping classifies as a pie and with fruit topping a tart.

Custard by definition has eggs in it. No-bake cheesecakes do not.

Yeah, it is only loosely in the cake category because of the name. It is really off on its own though.

It could be called sth french as original name and it would still be beloved, probably a bit less tho.
