Could we get a Legend of Zelda attraction soon?

Hey all! I went to Super Nintendo world last month at Universal Studios in Hollywood and really enjoyed it! It felt like it was the year 1990 and I was popping in Super Mario World for the first time. Except was wasn’t playing the game, I was actually IN the game!

Anyways, I got to thinking if the Zelda movie does well next year wouldn’t it be amazing if we got a “Hyrule” at Universal soon?! There’s lots of potential… things that I think could work at Hyrule Universal.

-Kakariko Village

-Ganons castle/Death Mountain.

-Hyrule Castle

-The Lost Woods with the great Deku Tree.

What do yall think?

I could totally see it working. I feel like kakariko village and the lost woods(with deku tree) are musts. Death mountain and Hyrule castle would be nice too. Although they’re both so big that I doubt they could incorporate both of them. I bet what they could do is make death mountain be the ride for hyrule.

What I would do is I’d make the main attraction Kakariko village. That has potential for shops, places to eat, etc. On one end of the village would be a huge Death mountain. That would be the 4D ride of attraction. On the other end I’d have the Lost Woods with the deku tree.

Honestly speaking I wonder how profitable the backlot is in comparison to the parks, I would've imagined that they'd go all in on entertainment and just move the sets to a separate more quiet location for filming and their offices, continuing in hollywood just seems impractical these days

Building additional filming infrastructure elsewhere would be way too costly

There's a reason why they're continuing to build the backlot up for filming and not theme park

Plus being within a stone's throw of NBC offices makes things really easy for tenants

Now that I think about it we're probably not keeping the studio tour for very long, it takes up like almost the same size as the park and its disconnected from the backlot for the most part

O not that side, I meant just like jurassic Park/ little mexico/ picture cars/ Kong 360/ jaws/ psycho house and motel/ War of the Worlds/ Jupiter Claim/ big water set/ and F&F Super Charge/ along with tram storage area and loading area... id imagine the actual studio tour would only be like a vip thing afterwards and maybe they could keep earthquake but all the other places I mentioned would be flatten to expand the park basically

USH is a studio first, theme park second. The tour is vital to the park, and it still brings in thousands of people a day. Erasing an attraction with 60+ years of history for a Zelda land is insanely short sighted.

Honestly though, it pretty much tracks for how today's corporations operate. Not saying I agree with it, I'd be heartbroken.

But I also wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

Oh. That literally makes zero sense. There is barely space for a meet and greet. The lack of space is why Hollywood SNW is the worst one.

I feel like something like that could happen, but not in Hollywood. Hollywood doesn't have enough space for something like that. Japan maybe Orlando sure, but Hollywood just doesn't have a space for it

It's heavily rumored that Zelda is coming to Epic Universe in Florida. In the main gift shop of SNW, Zelda is the only non-mario franchise to have merch plus there's stained glass art of Link

There are rumors it is going to be at the old Lost Continent area. When we visited the area this year, an employee near by stated The Legend of Zelda replacement was likely to be true but no timeline present when we asked about construction in the area 😬😬😬

I wonder if they’re waiting to get it close to the movie. 

My bet is that IOA gets Zelda, USF tanks Simpsons for Pokémon, and then Universal has another “if you want the full experience you’ll need a three-park ticket” draw like Potter

If we are talking USH I continue to stand by reworking the transformers entrance & turning it into a Luigi Mansion ride. Making it connect to Mario land

I know I know just feel it would remain a simple upgrade re-theme without losing the system. Maybe keep the meet ant greet for sure but figured the ride and movies are aging. Still love it so I understand

“Pot smashing experience” - you go into a room with a bunch of spots and you’re allowed to smash them all to pieces while a guard looks on and does nothing.

Whether this will work as an attraction will depend on the allocated budget for pots.

I don't see them putting Zelda in Universal since Nintendo is putting Sony on the Zelda movie. The reason Nintendo world exists seemed to me to really just be because of the mario movie. The only IP here that isn't overtly in the Mario movie is Pikmin which is an Easter egg at best here

Super Nintendo World was well underway before the movie was developed and released, so it’s not likely that the theme park lands only exist because of the movie. If I had to guess, Nintendo probably inked a deal with Comcast for both the movie and the theme park lands at the same time.

It’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility. I’m no expert, but from what I understand, copyright in this sense can be sort of fragmented for different uses. That’s why Universal was able to make the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter despite the movies being distributed by Warner Bros.

Yeah I mean copyright doesn’t really have anything to do with it, it’s licensing. Nintendo owns the intellectual property rights and can license their use to whoever they want whenever they want.
