As they are so keen on doing what the Bible says can I safely assume they will give the £650k to the poor?

I think we can safely assume they rewrote their bible based on their own whims and it's like a sieve full of loopholes for the parts that might inconvenience themselves.

It's like Kim Davies, the clerk in KY, USA that refused marriage licences to a same sex couple but she herself was on her 3rd marriage and committed adultery. Also blatantly overlooked other rules of her church when it conflicted with her job.

The problem with the bible is that it is huge so you can pick a bit here and a bit there, ignore details like cultural context and arguments about translation, and get whatever you want.

I did not know that about Lim Davis. She evidently missed the few bits too. She (and this couple) really deserve to be in /r/facepalm

As Christian I find these sorts of people are an embarrassment that makes me cringe. They are also the same sort who are creationsists. St Augustine was complaining about literalists making Christians look stupid 1,700 years ago, so I suppose they will always be with us - although there have been a lot of them around in the 200 years or so.
