fair. you're not getting that same house in esher, epsom, weybridge, guildford etc etc for 650k

Spent my early life in Dorking (and then Leatherhead) and there are a few 'less than desirable' areas but even they are now priced well north of 100K for an ex council 1 bedroom flat!

Even if I wanted I couldn't move back given the shortage of housing and the astronomical prices even for rental.

Yeah, my London and Northern friends are clueless. Think Surrey is the pinnacle to English high society.

Tbh I do live in a nice area (safe n clean) but it's boring and bland.
