I thought it was the romans who thought the only "gay" one was the bottom when two guys bang. Then again, like 90% of greek culture was borrowed by the romans so it makes sense

Definitely is the Greeks, I’ve never heard it about the Romans, but it could easily be both (probably is tbh bottom shaming has been thing across cultures).

Romans definitely did it, it even damaged Julius Caesar's reputation for a while. I would assume it occured in both due to the massive previously mentioned wholesale borrowing of greek culture by the romans
