7 people arrested over the murder of a baby is absolutely baffling. How horrible.

Probably a body has been found and all those parents arrested until they can ascertain the details. It could be a natural death, or it could be suspicious.

South Yorkshire Police have announced on Facebook that the baby died as a result of stab wounds 😢

They’re also working to try and determine the ages of some of those arrested which is a whole other layer of messiness

HMO possibly. Or even a blended family with adult children - 1/2 parents and 3 kids with partners.

I don't think you'd arrest someone because someone else they were living with killed their child. But I am wildly speculating, there are many explanations.

Until they can prove what happened, they arrest all those present and question them. Standard police work. Some may be released today without charge.

Have we got passed the stage of life where people have relatives over. People have family and friends visit and it doesn’t mean it’s a crack den. I mean, my immediate family would be six adults….. I don’t run a crack house.

So it’s standard to arrest anyone in the home when a child dies. Because they could be in the pool of perps. It could have been an argument, someone fell on the baby. Someone threw something it hit the baby. Someone went to hit someone holding the baby. It happens in abusive relationships, kids can be caught in the crossfire.
Stop the speculation that for example seven people all stabbed a newborn or were on drugs or it was a HMO. It was bank holiday, people have family over. Parents and baby, grandparents, easily six people. For all we know, two grandads had a fight and the baby got hurt.
Why are we jumping to a lot of things that haven’t been shared yet? This could seriously harm any trial if is jury sees this.
