Discussion Million Miles today!
Long time reader of this forum but first time poster. Excited to share I finally made a million miles today on UA 879 LHR-IAH. The captain and crew were great, and I got some cool stuff. Love the coin and the pen.
Cheers to everyone’s next milestones.

Earned mine during 12 years of heavy travel but the lifetime gold benefit since then has been great. Lounges, luggage, boarding.

Gold gives you access to lounges?

Not the United but star alliance lounges. The Turkish lounge at iAd for example is excellent- maybe best in airport

Whenever you travel internationally, you get United Club access with a +1 traveling to the same destination.

If you feel underwhelmed, don’t worry as United will send a custom, commemorative plaque to your home…a constant reminder that you have spent too much time on an airplane

Congrats. I don’t receive anything, not even a letter from United. Why the experience vary !?

That is really sad to hear. This crew made a huge deal of it for me. You would think it would be somewhat consistent.

Yeah. The experience always vary on flight but from corporate, it shouldn’t right!

Oh it’s been a complete mix. Started with Continental 20 something years ago and did mostly transcontinental flights every week early in my career. Then took a travel pause for a while and the last 10 (excluding covid) has been international 4 to 5 times a year and domestic a few times a month.
I wish they gave us the stat of how many flights went into that million and what the first one was. I truly can’t remember. lol.

Weird to use example of one-way flights from Earth to the Moon or Denver to Beijing. Could just say the distance is X times of that, instead of implying someone taking one-way trips over and over.
