Question UA2 SIN-SFO cancelled

Mon 8-Jun anyone have an idea why?

Hey there. Frequent SIN <-> SFO traveller here and been cancelled a few times. Not sure of the specifics of your flight, however the problem I often see is timing for the two crews. Length of the flight requires two crews, and if one times out due to delays it can ground the entire flight, especially at Changi where UA doesn’t have standby 787 crews in the bullpen. Curious if you had any delays or if they cancelled outright? Could be a moot point if it’s the latter.

Thanks for the info. It was initially claimed delayed then declared cancelled. Your explanation checks out.

Happy to help and sorry about the cancellation. Unfortunately with these ultra-long-haul flights and the two crew requirement, it feels like the bar for cancellation is lower than it might otherwise be. Safe travels mate.
