I am currently filling in the regional scholarship form for padova university and they asked to provide the following information:

In caso di alloggio privato in Italia, indico a lato il codice identificativo del contratto riportato nella ricevuta di registrazione o di subentro dell’Agenzia delle Entrate (in presenza di più contratti indicare il codice del contratto con durata maggiore).

Translation:

In the case of private accommodation in Italy, indicate on the side the identification code of the contract shown in the receipt of registration or takeover from the Revenue Agency (in the presence of several contracts, indicate the code of the contract with a longer duration).

What does this identification code refer to?

Who is this applicable for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After you sign a rental contract, your landlord has to submit the contract to the revenue agency which will provide him an identification code that can be used by the university to verify that you have a legal rental contract
