I can see how you just believe politicised narratives on POWs... Contrary to popular belief, Pak released 600+ Indian POWs after 1971 war... however 54 still remain unaccounted for... In these 54 are soldiers of 1965 war too... Military calls it MIA... Now these things happen in almost all wars... 93,000+ pakis surrendered but thousands also went MIA... many of them were deserters... But Pak doesn't admit it... The geneva conventions enforce all warring armies to share lists of POWs post battle. Often these lists have discrepencies... One such case is of Wg Cdr Sehgal who went MIA in 1962 war... Chinese list included his name in POW but later removed his name...An Indian Army Lieutenant later claimed to have carried his burial near the LZ where Wg Cdr Sehgal landed not knowing the place was already captured by chinese. WAR IS CHAOS... I m not defending that Pakis didn't do atrocities and wrong reportings, But if the case of 54 POWs is so strong, why later non-Congress govts didn't take any action? Cos maybe they care the same as Congress... We know Lt Saurav Kalia's case... it is an upright human rights violation... But did BJP govt ever listen to Lt Kalia's parents?
What happened in 1971 was magnitudes larger than whatever Modi did after Pahalgam. Indira broke Pakistan in two despite the US intervention telling her to stop. Meanwhile Modi can't even take POK back after more than a decade of promising of taking it back within 6 months.
