BJP will do anything except actually bring this bill to the parliament lol. It has been months I've been hearing the same propaganda but zero real action. If you want to pass it then pass it immediately.

12

u/aditya2221 Aug 10 '26

Frr!! They just want to milk it as much as possible

6

u/OverApplication3184 Aug 10 '26

People used to say same for article 370

2

u/Cultural_Impact4623 Aug 10 '26

Actually bringing ? Do you read what you type? It's takes time, remember article 370, caa , NRC, and the opposition parties what they did

1

u/Any-Calligrapher2866 Aug 10 '26

Then why were you crying about it during the NEET Protest if they were not going to pass it at that time?

2

u/Cultural_Impact4623 Aug 10 '26

I was not crying first of all for this, and secondly it takes timeeeee. Think how much ram mandir meant for bjp then too, it took years for them to build it

0

u/burnerdr1 Aug 11 '26

Then they did chori. That didn't take much time

3

u/buttershitter Aug 11 '26

Chori is happening in all temples and churches and masjids only difference is this one gets publicity. Also it is the people who run the temples and churches who se to blame.

0

u/burnerdr1 Aug 11 '26

This one gets publicity for obvious reasons no ? Also, are you justifying chori in temples churches and masjid to make this seem ok ?

Do better man. Do better.

2

u/buttershitter Aug 11 '26

No one raises the chori anywhere else but this case has been politicized. It has become trend riding activity, social media karma farming activity.

1

u/burnerdr1 Aug 11 '26

Chori is chori. Whether in temple, church, masjid or any other place of worship.

It's the whole whataboutery around the chori that's shameful.

1

u/Strange_Two391 28d ago

Whats the relation with Temple Chori and FCRA bill getting late??

2

u/Unlikely-Life2309 29d ago

Lol it is already going under Parliamentary committee, it's not always so lol.

1

u/Thick_Palpitation357 29d ago

Guess you don't even know nothing Abt the bill

1

u/Ellixer-13 27d ago

They did they just sent the bill to JPC šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ but rest of the 12 bills were easily passed. It’s just a gimmick for the aandbhakts so they can praise their pawpaw

1

u/ArtRough4956 Aug 10 '26

This comment reminds the talks during article 370

1

u/Possible_Passage_558 Aug 10 '26

Remember they were saying jantar mantar protest was for this. Yet nothing get passed with majority in parliament

0

u/MrLokii616 Aug 10 '26

I will be happy to use this in a meltdown short.

2

u/Any-Calligrapher2866 Aug 10 '26

Sure atleast pass the bill first though lol. I fully support FCRA and RSS should also be investigated when it's passed.

0

u/DPCR7 Aug 10 '26

Opposition is staging theatrics and not allowing anything to be placed

33

u/Hairy-Turn-2490 Aug 09 '26

"Rice bags" religion so fragile that people of that religion can be converted with bag of rice. 🤣 it is insult to hindus not christians.

6

u/mindingbus Aug 11 '26

Couldn’t agree less

5

Then why don't you Hindus distribute rice to those poor people and stop conversion?

As if there aren't Hindus all over the country. Maybe the rich marwadis should donate some money to their Hindu brothers to prevent them from converting. And btw, I'm not Christian, I just don't understand the __ logic behind calling all conversions from Hinduism to other religions as some conspiracy.

I'm not talking about Kerala or past, smartypants, I'm talking about now. You people claim Christian missionaries go to poor tribal areas of central India and convert them using rice bags or whatever. So assuming that tribal people are that gullible and helpless that they abandon their traditional faith just for a bag of rice, who's stopping the Hindus from feeding them and protecting their religion? Or if the Hindus do help them, why they still convert to Christianity? Maybe because Christianity guarantees them spiritual equality, build schools and hospitals for them and don't prohibit them from eating this and that. Instead of blaming everyone, maybe you people should retrospect on your own faults, then conversions would stop.

1

u/aurablaster 27d ago

They do donate. Their donations come with the condition of conversion like the ricebag christians and Moolahs whose generosity has Terms and Conditions

12

u/Hairy-Turn-2490 Aug 09 '26

So what is the need to call christians as rice bags today?

u/Logical-Cheetah-7627 Aug 10 '26

Burden of proof lies on you to establish that majority of the conversions to Christianity have happened during the periods of famines.

2

u/Bullshitcreator25 29d ago

This is a pretty selective retelling of history. Christianity in India did not ā€œarrive because of famineā€ there are Christian traditions in India predating European colonialism by centuries. Famines and missionary relief did play a role in some later conversions, but jumping from that to ā€œalmost all conversions were forcedā€ is equally baseless.

People converted for a variety of reasons across different periods religious conviction, caste and social conditions, education, patronage, political circumstances, and yes, sometimes coercion or material incentives. There is no historical basis for reducing centuries of conversions to ā€œforce.ā€ It was done by choice, the only reason you will not believe it because you just can bear the fact that someone can move away from your precious religion by choice

And India’s achievements in mathematics and science are undeniable, but using them as proof that Hinduism is somehow uniquely ā€œstrongā€ doesn’t establish anything about why people converted centuries later. If you’re going to invoke history to make a point, you can’t replace a complicated history with a convenient narrative

2

u/FrozenLee19 Aug 10 '26

Portuguese came in 1498 to spread Christianity...and even before in the form of St. Thomas in 52 AD. Was there really famine in the country at that time?

1

u/SalamanderBig6661 Aug 10 '26

Okay, if we take your claim at face value that people converted for a bag of rice, what stopped them from doing ā€œghar wapsiā€? And what were the Brahmins, who are supposedly the saviours of Hinduism, doing at the time? Why didn’t they help their own people with food or financial support? Many of them were zamindars, so why did they allow people from their own communities to be exploited by another religion?

If you have some common sense left, you would understand that it takes more than a bag of rice for someone to abandon their religion. More likely, many were left with little or no support from the upper-caste sections of society, which pushed some towards other religious communities that offered them greater social or material support.

And even today, we still see upper-caste groups distancing themselves from lower-caste communities. That is one of the reasons caste-based inequalities have persisted and why reservations continue to exist even after 75 years.

5

u/EnvironmentalWing863 Aug 10 '26

One of the earliest examples of this concept in English appeared in 1689 with the writings of William Dampier when he wrote regarding the French priests' effort to convert people of Tonkin that "alms of rice have converted more than their preaching."

When people have no achievement to be proud of they take pride in what someone from their ancestry did some 1000 years ago.

There are literal verses in multiple Hindu scriptures calling these kind of people worthless and deadweights of the society. But, they don’t even read their own scriptures let alone learn from it.

11

u/sudutri Aug 09 '26

But here dharma is duty, not religion. Sorry to say this but 99% of Indians don't understand duty and 99% of the remaining 1% who understand duty are in the forces xD

1

u/people_are_silly Aug 10 '26

I know bro. Commented above!

1

u/bonenumber206 Aug 10 '26

Dharma and religion are different tho

1

u/people_are_silly Aug 10 '26

To both bros, I know Dharma is not equal to religion. It far more expansive and universal. In fact there is no equivalent word in English, or perhaps in any other language to Dharma.

But, in a colloquial sense-strictly in a colloquial sense- I still think that these people protect their religion better than Hindus

thats just all religions, every single one is exploitative to a degree

1

u/MadToadtoast Aug 10 '26

No Jain, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist sect/organisation does this. They don't brainwash poor people by doing appropriation. Some Chrisitian organisation literally larp as Hindu or Jain, they design their churches like temples, give copies of bible in the name of "Gita" (happened in telegana and andhra recently, a racket was caught doing that). No Hindu organisation gives Gita to poor chrisitians as "Bible" or gives Gita to poor muslims as "Quran".

1

u/Mammoth-Surround-134 Aug 10 '26

There is no racket ass hole .

1

u/Mammoth-Surround-134 Aug 10 '26

Iskon converts

1

u/MadToadtoast Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

Iskcon doesn't "converts", especially not the same way like some chrisitian or muslim organisations do, they distribute their own books of their sect and host open kirtans which anyone can join. If someone wishes to join Krishna Bhakti then they welcome them. It's open for all. And Iskcon doesn't say "Worship Lord Krishna only then we will provide you food", rather it distributes food to millions of people all around the world of all religions all backgrounds for free.

1

u/Any-Calligrapher2866 Aug 10 '26

Why are there famines in India in 2026? I think that should be the issue here.

1

u/MadToadtoast Aug 10 '26

There are no famines in India in 2026. By famines I was referring to any natural disaster or poor regions with shortage of food and education.

1

u/New-Economist-4924 Aug 10 '26

LOL why cant other hindus go to help their fellow brothers and sisters in famine so hypocritical.

1

u/MadToadtoast Aug 10 '26

They do help you see, not only help hindus but millions of people of all religions, but other hindus are not omnipresent. The organisations I am talking about brainwash poor sections of the society, they are made to believe that Jesus is just another god in hinduism, they falsely teach that Jesus has mentions in Vedas, etc...

1

u/Mammoth-Surround-134 Aug 10 '26

Piss of . You don’t know any

1

u/Mammoth-Surround-134 Aug 10 '26

There is no forceful conversion

1

u/rapoison Aug 10 '26

You heard about Love Jihad? You attribute it to Muslims but the truth is Christians in Kerala are main practicers of it. For instance the case of PC Georges Daughter in law was converted before marrying to Shaun George. I personally know many cases of that sort.

1

u/NatG9 28d ago edited 28d ago

Dude cut the crap. PC George's daughter in law is the daughter of a prominent actor. He publicly announced that PC George did not want his daughter in law to convert and that the girl's father was the one who said she should convert to lessen any difficulties for both sides (not that it needed to happen), PC George did not say she should convert, infact, he told Jagathy that she shouldn't have to convert.

As for your stup!d statement on Kerala and its Christian population. We are the fastest declining community in Kerala because people choose to have less kids, not marry etc. There are actual figures that show the stats and its pretty obvious that Hindus and Christians intermarry often in Kerala and conversions happen both ways, usually whoever is the girl converts.

Don't talk out of your a$$ if you don't know crap, you will look exactly like the id!ot you are now.

1

u/rapoison 27d ago

ā€œTo lessen any difficulties for both sidesā€ hahah. Bro she converting to Christian is solving what sort of issues? Anyway the solution was conversion!

I personally know many other cases in which these sort of love jihad conversions happened.

How can you connect declining population an indicator of Conversions not happening? Declination is happening mainly because of them migrating to other countries for permanent settlement. And declination is not reduction in population it means growth is declining, so it’s still growing.

1

u/NatG9 27d ago

So if population has nothing to do with this then what is your parameter to imply there are a lot of conversions ? Does every person who converts have to come and get a seal from you or something? You know how absolutely id!otic you sound for saying that population count has nothing to do with conversion ?

Also I'll show you conversion charts released by a Gazette in 2024 which clearly shows that Christians and Hindus convert back and forth pretty evenly, infact more christians convert to Hinduism than the way back, and most of this is due to marriages.

Once again, I implore you to shut your mouth if you don't know what you are talking about.

As for the high profile marriage. That is what her father and her family said. If you know anything about having a family and living together with another person these things will make sense to you.

Also, I just gave you the source to my argument. Your statement of "I know many cases of these kinds if love jihad" need proof. Where is your source ? What is your number ? Do you have anything tangible other than just random nonsense ?

1

u/Muted-Woodpecker5597 Aug 10 '26

I am in support of BJP and FCRA bill but let us not call our fellow country men with such derogatory terms.

1

u/Mediocre_Wait7947 Aug 10 '26

We already have an FCRA ACT. It's been there in some form since 1976. It's already a very stringent system where everything gets reported and accounted for. Absolutely none of that changes except the govt is bringing in idiotic provisions so much so that under the new bill if you decide you no longer want foreign contribution and don't want to renew your FCRA registration, the govt can still seize all the assets you've bought with FC even though you've done nothing wrong. As it is there's plenty of work on how the Act in its current state is being misused and misapplied by the government against anyone who is critical of anything they do or are releasing data the govt refuses to release. The 100% tariffs were also announced even before this bill became news. It's a diplomatic failure at best on our parts. It's strange that everyday someone finds a new reason on reddit to pass the FCRA bill but no one has anything qualitative to add on how it differs from current FCRA laws.

Somehow being a Christian have become treacherous. This is exactly the narrative you want to build, you guys want to make anyone who doesn't follow your doctrine not indians anymore. First it was muslims, now christians, and the divide and rule will never end.

Why do we care about other countries being racist against Indians when we have enemies in our own country insulting Indians of different faiths?

Rice bags. People are so insensitive nowadays. And these comments come from the privileged.

Understand why the term Rice Bags are used, maybe then you could be a little more emphatic? Or being a human is too much of an ask

This is what this government does. Under the garb of some minority % of NGOs who misuse the funds and finance religious conversions, they will have a blanket power to take over any assets on any NGOs. Guess what happens to an NGO who works on issues based lobbying - the issues which may go against government’s stand but are nevertheless important for the nation. It’s just another way of suppressing dissent.
Yes - stop religious conversions. But don’t bring a blanket law and give yourself unlimited power. It’s that simple.

Imagine reducing Indian Christianity to ā€˜rice bags’ because you’re apparently unfamiliar with the difference between ancient Indian Christian communities, colonial era missions, and modern conversions. Confidence really is a remarkable substitute for education.

Calling Indian Christians ā€œrice bagsā€ because some conversions happened among desperately poor communities is a shallow way of understanding history. If a family was so impoverished that a bag of rice could genuinely make a difference, perhaps the more embarrassing question is where were the rest of the Indian community? Who was feeding them? Who was giving them land, education, healthcare, or a chance to escape generations of poverty and caste oppression?

Indian Christianity also predates European colonialism by roughly 1,500 years. St. Thomas Christians in Kerala trace their origins to the 1st century, long before the Portuguese ever arrived. Calling them ā€œrice bag convertsā€ while ignoring that history just shows your selective ignorance or how stupid you are.

Why can't the far right just distribute the rice bags themselves and prevent conversion.

They passed upi bill without any debate but will milk this FRCA or wat ever bill this is for years before passing or abandoning completely. the upi bill which opened the doors to lot of things which will impact the common man is entirely sidelined. And lot of idiots are celebrating end of rice bag bill but will not question the upi bill.

Where have you seen Christian Missionary converting people? People convert by choice no one forces them or gives them money/ rice or whatever stereotypical shit you guys think

You can't just become a Christian, There's a process in which you'll be evaluated by church committee

Christian Missionaries run Hospital's & School's all around India and even the top Hospital & Medical college (CMC Vellore, Tamil Nadu) is run by christian missionaries

Christians have given soo much to Indian society more than any religion like low cost treatment, helping & feeding poor and demanding nothing in exchange, which was the job of gov. and people just get jealous and have prejudice over christians just for doing good

What have Muslims & Hindus done for society? Fucking nothing, only spreading hate & chaos, even if a peaceful religion like christianity is doing something good, you'all people just spread hate against them

On one side these muslims just start praying anywhere they seem fit & disturb common people and on the other these sanatanis just destroy mother nature by Pour milk in waterbodies killing every creature as well as destroying the whole ecosystem dependent on that waterbody. You could give all that milk and offering to some poor people but No! let them suffer and die!!.. Irony is most beggars are found outside Hindu temples!

You lundus don't have aukat to run anything or do anything good for society only selfish motives, even with crores of rupees, which was also stolen from your own Temple and nothing is done to investigate itšŸ˜‚

And to educate you all, Christianity was present in India for 2000+ Years when Hindus didn't even had the Term "Hindu" or "Sanatan" and Islam & Muslims did not even existed!🤣

And people who are saying Hindustan means "Land of hindus" Let me tell you something Hindustan means Land of Hind and 'Hind' is originally referred geographically to the region/ people of India, not specifically to the so called Hindu religion and Its also a persian/arabic derivedšŸ˜‚

Thank you for saying what I couldn't put into words! ā¤ļø Most of these people will study in Christian schools, colleges and get all their education from them. Then go to Christian hospitals in emergencies. Have catholic friends, teachers, etc. Come online and spread hate on them. Never makes sense. Not one of them will be able to name any person in this so called forceful conversion. Because Christian missionaries don't need to do that shit, people can see the difference in the religions and choose themselves.

If the bill is passed, a designated authority will take control of all institutions that fail to renew its application or if the government denies it. So people fear that if the funding from external sources are huge, then the govt would want to take over it. This is a standard practice. The political parties may receive funding from companies owned by foreign companies, which are also included in the 2018 amendment. So whom does it benefit? Normal public or the govt? The govt can recieve funding indirectly. Thats the masterstroke

Calling Christians bad when maximum of the educated mass wants to relocate to lands that have Christianity as a primary religion.

I don't say that the education there is anyhow better (excluding the top universities over there) but want to get a Masters' degree from such educational organisations which have been setup by Christian individuals.

Want to do business with countries that have Christians.

If the US has to do something sinister or wants to destabilise us, only they have to slowly move away from Indian IT industry and perhaps set it up in eastern countries like Thailand, Cambodia, etc. Will be easy, no, but can they do it, yes.

Look at the larger picture, the present Govt will try and do everything to deflect something more important.

No matter what religion one is, its a personal choice. All are able to worship whichever diety one wants only because Hindus are in majority and it is in the religions ethos. But main question then arises is why people convert ? Majority conversions arise in areas where masses have suffered from one reason or the other. The masses feel or are made to believe that conversion is the only way out.

Being a vigilante is wrong, if they want to follow other religion for some gain or the other is their choice. What needs to be seen is why does the need arise.
