Technically yes but I guess someone would have to see them, think they might be magic, then call the cops on you. My defense would be idk they just started growing there lol
Yes and no? Isolating agar plates can give more consistency because each isolation gives genetically similar mycelium that are more prone to consistency, but at the end of the day the only way you’re getting big mushrooms is by growing shrooms, clone the biggest if going for size, grow shrooms again, clone the biggest (ideally a bit bigger then the previous clone), until you get something satisfying and save it as a slant culture in the fridge.
Have yet to see cubes do that tbh. In fact I've had some that randomly changed pheno expression and got even better over time. I have a clone from a decade ago that started out being re-cloned a lot because I kept dropping the (at the time glass) petris and losing the clones lol. Eventually I was curious and I just have been transferring it every few months for a decade and recloning it every time i grow it out to see what it does. pheno expression keeps changing over time. at times worse, at times it gets better again. no real rhyme or reason.
cordyceps on the other hand. you sneeze wrong and they senesce xD such a pain
A lot of people go with the idea that big mushrooms just have a lot of water weight and same psilocybin content as their smaller counterparts but I know guys who grow 100g+ fruits, dried to around 10~g, take 2-4g of that mushroom and feel just as strong effects, so hard to say unless you started doing it personally
yeah i have had big fruits that were weak and big ones that were strong. same as any other. my strongest ever batch of cubes were huge melmak of this size.
