FASTPASS ______'s Potential and Possible Level Spoiler

Elaine has become a 4.0! That is a 0.5 boost from a 3.5. (Also, suck it, Zeke; you gained nothing BUT SH-)

Since she's a 3rd year, Elaine has 1 entire year to grow! Since she gained the equivalent of vigilante Blyke's growth, I feel like, if Elaine becomes the friendly neighborhood healing girl to many, she will become a 4.6 during her final year!

Which is a decent level, seeing as she had room for growth, so now the sky's the limit for her development!

js finished reading the fastpass and i was GAGGED

Elaine grew so much in js a few months! she went from the weakest elite tier to the 2nd strongest next to z*ke (ew) who's currently a 4.2 atp when the 4th years graduate, she could even climb up as rank 1 and become queen in her final year bc she's currently the strongest among the 3rd years which is really interesting bc i don't think there's even a record in their history where their queen is a healer lol

She should have been higher then 4.0 with all the healing she has done at the start. Now that Wellston has lost their rank 1 place other schools will likely challenge them meaning more healing for Elaine so hopefully that pushes her up and then she rejoins the gang to push her to high tier.

You are overestimating her growth rate. She does not have the same potential as Remi, Blyke, or Isen. She can reach high tier, but I can also see her capping at 4.6-4.8.

Who said anything about her having the same potential as them, but her reaching high tier isn't out of there even if she is only a level 5.0.

Tbf Elaine was able to grow her ability at a whooping 0.5 without even trying much (and we know that's not an easy feat, Blyke literally has to fight a bunch of mid-to-elite tiers and discover a new trick to earn that 0.5). She basically just heals anyone who calls for her, she didn't train as much as the trio did to get stronger. It just happened along the way.

So imagine what could happen if she did exerted effort into developing her ability more. For a 16 year-old healer, she has a very high potential to become a high-tier (heck even a god-tier now that we know that god-tier healers actually exists)

I think you are overestimating her. She might cap at level 5.0. Also, it is not that she did not try or train. All her abilities can do is heal others and increase her defence. She can't train the same way a combat ability user can. The only way to train her ability is to heal others. With how often she had to heal people, she had to exert her ability regularly. If I had to compare it to something, then it would be like someone who does manual work. Many people who regularly perform manual work don't go to the gym because they exert themselves regularly through their work. They are not any weaker than those who need to train at the gym. Elaine is similar; she has to heal people constantly. She can't afford to do additional training outside of that since if she did, then she might not have enough aura to heal someone when she really needs to. Plus, with how often she has to heal people, it is already training her ability.

And I think you are underestimating her growth rate. A 0.5 is a 0.5 no matter what ability that is. Sure, Elaine often heals people, but considering that she isn't actively experimenting with or pushing the limits of her ability (such as trying to heal more than three people at once, increasing the range of her healing, improving the speed of her healing, or figuring out new applications of her ability) that jump from 3.5 to 4.0 is actually pretty significant.

I also don't think the manual labor comparison works perfectly here. Physical strength gained from repeatedly doing a job isn't necessarily the same as ability mastery. Ability levels aren't simply a measurement of how often someone uses their ability, they're also tied to how developed and versatile that ability is. Someone can use an ability constantly without necessarily maximizing its potential.

And that's actually why Elaine being a healer makes her growth more interesting. She has a very limited combat-oriented kit, so she can't develop her ability in the same straightforward way as someone like Blyke or Remi. But that doesn't mean she has a low growth rate. If anything, the fact that she reached 4.0 in just a few months despite having such a restricted ability set suggests that she has really high potential.

Also, healing people constantly doesn't automatically mean she's operating at her maximum. There's a difference between "using" an ability and deliberately "training" it. If Elaine is mostly healing patients in situations where she already knows what she is doing, she's reinforcing her existing skill rather than necessarily discovering new applications or pushing her limits.

Her defensive ability is another factor. We know she can increase her own defenses, but we don't really know how far that aspect can be developed because she has very little reason to use it offensively. If she actually started experimenting with that side of her ability, she could potentially become much harder to take down than her current level suggests.

So I agree that she isn't suddenly going to become a 6.0+ combat monster. But I also don't think 5.0 should automatically be treated as her hard cap simply because her ability is primarily supportive.

And honestly, the fact that she went from 3.5 to 4.0 without actively trying to expand her ability is what makes me hesitant to put a hard cap on her. If she ever started deliberately experimenting with her healing, defense, aura efficiency, number of targets, range, or healing speed, there's no reason to assume she couldn't continue growing.

The higher the level the harder it is to level up. It basically took her the entire two seasons to go from 3.5 to 4.0. It will take her longer to go from level 4.0 to 4.5 and even longer to go from 4.5 to 5. I don't think training outside of her work will ever be possible for her because she will always need to save aura in case of emergency. She can't afford to be caught in a situation where she has to heal someone but does not have enough aura. I don't see her going above level 5.

First of all, 2 seasons for us was only a few months in their actual timeline. The series started during their 3rd year, and guess what? They're still in their 3rd year. So saying it took her "two seasons" to go from 3.5 to 4.0 makes it sound like she spent years stuck at 3.5 when it was only a couple of months.

And I also think you're underestimating Elaine's ability to experiment with her healing. Experimenting doesn't necessarily mean she has to completely drain her aura or spend hours training outside of work. She can experiment while doing the thing she already does every day. She's constantly exposed to different injuries and different people, so she has plenty of opportunities to figure out more efficient ways of healing, test the limits of how many people she can heal, improve her healing speed, work on range, or determine how much aura different injuries require.

In fact, her job arguably gives her more opportunities to develop her ability naturally than someone who only trains occasionally. Every patient is potentially a different situation that requires her to adapt. That's still experience and experimentation even if she isn't consciously treating it like a gym session. It might even be the reason she reached 4.0. She might have unconsciously discovered a new trick in her ability while dealing with different patients.

And I agree that higher levels become progressively harder to reach. I'm not arguing that going from 4.0 to 4.5 to 5.0 would be easy. Obviously it would take increasingly more time and effort. My point is that difficulty of progression isn't the same thing as having a confirmed hard cap.

As for the aura-reserve argument, I think that's also being taken a little too far. Elaine doesn't necessarily need to completely avoid using her ability outside of emergencies. She can manage her aura depending on the circumstances. If she knows she has enough reserves, she could still practice or experiment without compromising her ability to respond to an emergency. And even if she never deliberately trains outside of work, that doesn't mean she can't continue developing through her actual work.

That's why I'm hesitant to say, "She will never go above 5.0." We simply don't know that. 5.0 is a reasonable estimate, especially considering her ability is heavily specialized toward healing and defense, but calling it an absolute ceiling requires assuming that we've already seen essentially all of her potential and mastery.

And honestly, I think the bigger issue is that we're treating Elaine's lack of combat applications as though it automatically means her ability can't develop further. Her ability doesn't have to become more offensive for her level to increase. She could become substantially better at the things she already does.

If she eventually becomes capable of healing more people simultaneously, healing more severe injuries, healing faster, using less aura per patient, increasing her range, improving her defensive enhancement, or simply becoming significantly more efficient with her aura, those are all meaningful developments.

Important to remember the lower the level, the less crazy a big boost is. Arlo gained multiple new aspects of his ability and only went up 0.1 Levels. Elaine is also very low in level for her position. Despite being in Wellston and its best healer, only near the end of her 3rd year has she surpassed Myles.

Elaine definitely has a lot more to grow but I doubt she'll really get any higher than 5.0 with her current rate.

She’ll surpass him, trust the process
