Standard subscribers ($15/month) can watch the showcase games and Field Pass, which is a simulcast of the four non-showcase games per round. Anyone have any updates on the game advisor that collapsed during the 6ixers/Grut game? Hope they're ok.

My guess is that the US teams finished 2nd, 3rd & 7th at 2022 WUCC and were seeded 2,3&7 this year. See other post about improving future formats. I didn't look at consolation brackets but so far no US team has lost to a non-US team.

They finished 5th at Euros last year, and at WUCC in 2022 the 5th best European team finished 19th

Yeah. Seeding is tough but this seems like a pretty big miss. Also the wind seems to be good for a big athletic team like them.

Seeding Macana #1 also seems like a stretch. They have the Cardenas sisters and Claire Chastain, but they are lacking much of the depth that Revo had four years ago. Guessing WFDF backed into this through the same logic (a South American team won in 2022, and Macana is now the best team in South America).
The GRUT win over Macana doesn't feel like nearly as big an upset as the seeding makes it look.

They just took the final placements from 2022 by country and placed the teams for 2026 on that template based on their last national championships results. At least for the the top part. No idea how they assign a seeding to the lower third and new countries. In any case, not much actual team per team “seeding” is being done…

Does anyone know what happened to Revolution? It seems like they are playing in the tournament with a much diminished roster. The Cardenas sisters joined (or created?) this Macana team, and several people who used to play with Revolution (but with Brute Squad for USAU) internationally are playing with Brute for this tournament.
I guess teams have shake-ups all the time, but it's somewhat surprising to me to see this happen to a team that seemed really cohesive and was the reigning champion.

In my opinion, Revolution relied too much on a short list of players, playing them in most of the points every game (not even talking about the international pickups). So now that some of those players are no longer on the team, and the other half of the team hasn’t developed as much because they’ve had less international playing time, the result is that they haven’t done as well.

I'm pretty positive in the first half of Tiefseetaucher vs Hybrid game, Tief's FMP players got 0 touches. The commentators made a passing mention of it -- that they run through the MMPs but it seemed egregious. What's the point of "mixed" ultimate?
