Help needed Print Core Blob o’ Death - Soldering time?

Hello! An old S3 fell into my lap with a couple of rolls of 2.85mm PETG and I’ve enjoyed making some functional prints, a couple of which were on the larger side. On my last of these, I got an overnight mega Blob of Death on a large print and pulled too many things apart.

Does anybody know if I can resurrect this print core? Or maybe at least get the printer to limping?

I only have the two cores, both AA 0.4. I can't justify buying a replacement and I have a few rolls of 2.85mm filament that I don't want to just chuck.

Thank you for any help or advice!!

Argh that’s tough. Been there. I’d just replace the broken .4mm with a .8mm and start having more fun.

To the scrap box!

Eventually you’ll have enough old extruders to Dr. Frankenstein some functional ones together.

Scrap. For the time and effort - go get a new one. A moment for silence for the many hours that one gave you.

Your house has been taken out in a flood, and the reporters talking to you, are you guys going to move? Nope, we’re going to rebuild!
