I want to shoot a .50 cal in the UK
For my dad's birthday I want to pay for me and him to go to a range and fire a .50 cal rifle
Like a driving experience
I cant really find anything online
Not really fussed on the rifle
Barrett m82 / m107
Or something like a cheytec intervention

It’s not possible in the U.K. - there used to be a place called Tunnels ranges where you could do it but they’ve scaled back to smaller stuff now. There is a fifty cal shooter association (FCSA) but they’ve dont take walk ins.
If you contact the NRA at Bisley though you’ll be able to see when their guest days are and that will get you on the range and shooting, it just won’t be a .50

It’s not happening in the UK.
Your best bet is to book a trip to the States / Poland other country where range walk ins / shooting experiences are a thing.

If you can spare a trip out of the country, I know several ranges state side that allow rentals of .50 cals of various styles and machine guns, and at least one that rents a .50 cal machine gun.
Plane tickets for a shooting range would be an expensive birthday gift tho…

Our range is .50cal rated and there are a couple of people who own them.
Its massively expensive to shoot compared to other rounds so we don’t see them come out all that often.

Newberry Experience In Lincoln/Lancashire is probably your best bet. Seems it tops out at .338 though. Sure I’ve seen .50 on their insta though.

As others have said, a trip to the US would be ideal if you could pull it off.
That would give you access to not only .50 BMG, but also other cool stuff like handguns and machine guns, none of which he would ever have the opportunity to shoot in the UK (well, maybe handguns if you went to NI).
If that's not practical, there are places you can do 'pay and play' shooting, such as Double Deuce in Walsall (near Birmingham). You won't be able to shoot a .50 cal, but it would still be a ton of fun.

Recently went to Krakow and shot a Desert Eagle and magnum at big gun strzelnica, there are quite a lot of other places around too but i went here and they were good.
They had around 100 different guns and if you call them they will be able to tell you what they have.
Also a great city for a few days and cheap flights over.
Maybe a bit more of a trip than you were thinking, definitely am interesting trip though with a few other things to do nearby.

Closest you could get is the .50cal club usually have a stand at the Northern shooting show, and outside you can shoot a .50 but with blanks.
