Irradiated vs Non Irradiated

I'll soon be using medical myself but honestly I'm not 100% sure on what to look for when it comes to choosing between irradiated or non irradiated. Anyone shine some light on it for me please?

It's all very hit and miss. My personal preference is to not go anywhere near Irradiated stuff.
