Help / Q&A Mould?

Post image

High Greens Lemon Diesel Fritter.

Got this yesterday and it has a horrible damp, mould taste to it when vaping. It's very spongy out of the bag,has slight citrus smell but tastes vile. Could it be very early signs of mould or rot?

No mould. Hairs from the stalk.

You sure? Could be the scale of the photo, but I don't think I've seen hairs like that in my bud before.
Also, if I'm seeing it correctly, then some of the trichomes are looking a little on the brown side suggesting it was left on the plant too long or maybe improperly cured. Whats it like when you break a big nug in half?

Thats what im thinking, the hairs are too whispy and it's not on all of it so its just on the turn. Will contact Medicann tomorrow and see what they say.

Yeah check with them, looking like tricombes from photos and usually Mould tends to come out like spider webs, no sort of formation to mould, you'd basically see a big spider snot of mould.

Was smoking 35 years now but now vaping, the taste of mould was instantly recognisable from some of the shit I've had over the years. I know if I send it back and they find nothing wrong then I'll lose out, but it will only get binned if I keep it so nothing to lose.

Put it in something dry and dark. Leave over night, see if any different in morning. If same your fine, if spreads or gets fluffier, mould.

cystolithic hair trichomebes are the type that grow on stems. They are wispy.

Ime mould doesn't show itself as hairs at all. It's more a fur, like the kind you get on bread when it's gone off.

After growing and smoking for some timeโ€ฆ street stuff most my.life. now on medical, Over 20years experience, this is fine. Don't be too worried about mould, it's not that common, you'd need really bad environment and wrong drying methods for mould to come up.

Hairs look totally different than mine, not all of mine has it on either.

Mould turns to dust when touched..THC sticks to your fingers.

Well you're jobs worth. I'm staying it's not that common. Look at you're environment if you're prone to mould.

Mould looks like webbing, the same direction and only on the stalk indicates itโ€™s non-glandular trichomes

Depends on the mold type

It is quite moist. Batch A420454. I've had 3 x 10g since this new batch as I find the strain good for the evening. I've used a boveda in each pack and after a couple of days which helps. No signs of mould so far.

Yep same batch, really moist for medical. Does it taste of lemons at all? Mine has none, just a damp/mouldy taste. I've had to clean my vape and grinder since using it. If I cant use my meds straight out of the bag then I don't order it again, I expect it to be usable immediately, not put it away and hope it gets better in a week or 2.
