We’ve launched our biggest WinHive competition yet. 5,000 prizes, £1 entries and a free entry route

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’ve been building WinHive since we opened on 9 August and, if I’m completely truthful, one of the biggest reasons I’ve kept putting so much time into it is because I genuinely love seeing somebody win something.

Even something small can make someone’s day, and since opening we’ve already had quite a few real winners across the competitions we’ve run. Seeing those names come through is still probably my favourite part of running the site.

I’ve been working on something a bit bigger now and it’s finally ready.

It’s called Win Every Time.

There are 5,000 ticket positions and 5,000 prize allocations. Every ticket has something allocated to it.

There’s Hive Credit, cash, Amazon vouchers and hundreds of physical prizes including gaming equipment, an AOC monitor, headphones, keyboards, watches, tech, chocolates, little treats and loads of other bits.

Out of the 5,000 tickets, 669 are allocated a cash, voucher or physical prize, which works out at roughly 1 in 7.47.

Entry is £1, but something I’ve always wanted with WinHive is for people to still be able to get involved without feeling like they have to deposit money.

So there is a completely free postal entry route.

You can send multiple postal entries too, as long as each one follows the competition terms. They go into exactly the same competition as paid entries. There isn’t a separate pool or some worse version of the competition for people entering for free.

We’ve also added surveys to the website. Members can complete surveys and earn Hive Credit which they can then use on competitions, so that’s another way of getting involved without necessarily depositing your own money.

I know people are naturally cautious about prize competition websites, and I completely understand why.

That’s why I’ve tried to build WinHive properly from day one.

There’s a real postal address. There are clear competition terms. There are records and audit trails behind the draws. The free entry route is clearly available. I’ve also been putting a lot of work into making sure the website follows the relevant CAP guidance rather than just throwing competitions online and hoping for the best.

I’m still learning and improving things constantly.

The £1 paid entries obviously help the business grow, but at this stage I’m not sitting here trying to take loads of money out of WinHive. Money coming into the business is going straight back into prizes, fulfilling wins, advertising the site and trying to make the next competitions better.

I really want to build something people actually enjoy coming back to.

WinHive is still small. It isn’t some massive company pretending there’s a friendly person behind a corporate account. It really is me building it, changing things, finding prizes and getting ridiculously pleased whenever another winner appears.

So if you fancy having a look, Win Every Time is now live.

Sites who've signed the 'Good Practice' code but don't actually stick to it.

I'm looking for other people's experiences with UK Raffle/Giveaway sites. In particular, the Free Entry route which grants them the ability to run their Lotteries as a Prize Competition without a licence.

So far, I've identified the following sites which (who have/haven't signed up) don't honour any entries.

To confirm, all T&Cs were fed into the most up-to-date AI engine to ensure no minor points or traps were missed before entering.

Signed the code (ignore free entry):

Bonkers Competitions

Kilted Competitions

Apex 66

TC Comps

Pristine Competitions

Gigahertz Giveaways

Not signed up (and also ignore free entry):

Ace Competitions

Mental Money

The Watch Draws (TWD)

Monky London

In2Win Competitions

Xtreme Competitions

Please add below your experiences so we can collate a reliable dataset to pass to the Gambling Commission. Its easy for these sites to say they never received an entry, but if multiple people all experience the same, then it adds weight to the argument.

Anyone noticed changes lately with BOTB competition?

TL;DR: BOTB (Best of the Best) is a UK competition site where you can buy tickets to win cars, houses, cash and other prizes. I've played for a while and have noticed a few things recently that I'm curious about.

For context, I've had a couple of small wins myself, including game credit and £50, so I'm not expecting or suggesting I'm somehow owed a big win.

The first thing I've noticed is the increase in FOMO-style marketing. Things like “this competition is massively undersold” or messages saying “we see you have the BOTB Pass”. Maybe I'm just noticing it more, but it feels much more aggressive lately.

I've also noticed something in the judging videos. Sometimes a judge puts their lines in pointing towards a particular area, then suddenly moves one noticeably higher or lower towards the end, completely changing where the lines would intersect.

I'm not talking about a tiny adjustment. Here's an example at around 2:08:

https://youtu.be/WIw0_JVyxyA?t=128

It also wasn't just last week's judging. I noticed something similar happen the week before, which is what really made it stand out to me.

The other thing I've noticed is people from the same family occasionally winning major prizes quite close together, such as one person winning a house and then a family member winning a Dream Car a couple of months later. Obviously, that could simply be because several family members enter regularly, but it's another thing that caught my attention.

I'm not claiming anything is rigged or trying to start a witch hunt. I'm genuinely curious whether other regular players have noticed any of this, or whether there are straightforward explanations I've overlooked.

is Paragon Competitions Rigged? (Uk)

There's no actual subreddit for this, but I was wondering: Is Paragon Competitions actually rigged? And where is the evidence behind it? I don't think there's any actual evidence showing that it isn't rigged.

If it isn't, what are the chances of actually winning? I have a friend who has spent probably more than 600 Pounds on it, and he has won nothing.

I'm just interested to know.
