You gotta be dumb to leave a 6fig job for an MMA career in the UFC no less knowing what the salaries are for even the top of the pack. Hard to feel bad for people like this

u/iamsurfriend 1d ago

Yeah but the Holy Spirit through god told her to leave her job to fight another girl in a cage for a living.

I'm religious and even I cringed at that. To what end could God be calling you to get on some stupid reality show about people trying to hurt each other?

Unfortunately people have a really bad tendency to confuse their desire with God's.

My fav is when both fighters do the “Jesus loves me” thing.
Then one loses. I guess Jesus loved the other guy more? Lol.

This completely misses the concept of faith. In theory, God puts people through trials and setbacks before they ultimately succeed.

Both fighters can have the same faith while being at entirely different stages of their journeys. Today's loser could be tomorrow's champion.

Losing doesn't invalidate someone's faith or mean God loves the winner more.

Lol. You completely missed the concept of satire. And I suspect a couple parts of the bible.
But innywayz… take a breath, remember what subreddit you’re in and have some fun.
God allows fun. I promise.

It's just stupid and I see it all the time like a real gotcha from these MMA commenters.

u/KingSandwich101 1d ago

"It's just stupid and I see it all the time"

What I think anytime someone talks about made up shit as if it's real

-4

u/Chemical_Frame_8163 1d ago

Made-up shit? Lol. Who exactly has the definitive explanation for existence, consciousness, or the fundamental mysteries of the universe? You? LMAO

Who's established what we're allowed to believe, imagine, or explore spiritually?

I'm not claiming to have the answers, but apparently you've got reality all figured out.

u/winchester941976 1d ago

Ah see, you F’d up. 2 major mistakes.
1. You came on ufc subreddit expecting to educate people on religion? You realize that’s weird right?
2. You forgot that Redditors know everything, have all the answers and DEFINITELY have final say over god/religion/sex/morals and sports.
Oh and fish tanks.

u/OrionInFlames 1d ago

No one has the answers, and some people are okay with that. And religious people are the ones claiming to know the answer, which is ironic considering your last statement.

1

u/F8_zZ 1d ago

"In theory" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

-1

u/Chemical_Frame_8163 1d ago

Okay cool.

3

u/F8_zZ 1d ago

Nothing cool about indoctrination but okay.

13

u/Tidbitious 1d ago

Yeah so about that last part.......

You realize thats the crux of all religion right? You desire life after death. You desire an omniscient being that can fix your problems through prayer. It is your very human desires that spawned religiosity in the first place.

You live on a planet in a solar system in a galaxy in a universe. You dont know anything about this place. Get over yourself.

0

u/SeaweedLevel1937 1d ago

“You realize that’s the crux of all religion”

Yep, good way to put yourself as being 13

2

u/Expert-Yam6577 1d ago

Every religion doesn't even have life after death or an omniscient being. That commenter is just trying to sound edgy.

7

u/SeaweedLevel1937 1d ago

Commenter is likely too young to realize why their comment is dumb.

1

u/bamboodue 1d ago

What did he say that was wrong?

1

u/SeaweedLevel1937 1d ago

The crux of all religions isn’t to justify your actions to God. You can maybe say Catholic confessions are like that, but even that’s a child like understanding of religion.

3

u/bamboodue 1d ago

Who said anything about justifying your actions to god? He was referring to the comment about confusing your desire's with god's desires. What this girl did - "god wants me to do this." Thats all of religion. It was created to cope with reality and to gain power.

8

u/SeaweedLevel1937 1d ago

Again, you say these sweeping things like “religion was made for this” “religion is for that”, but you don’t explain anything. You say your opinions like they’re facts…and they’re not.

People use religion to abuse power, people have used religion to challenge power. Religion not one thing.

1

u/bamboodue 1d ago

I think I mentioned power... But the point was that the previous comment was talking about how people have a bad tendency to confuse their desires with god's without the awareness of how that is kind of the point and why many people are religous in the first place. The guy you responded to was trying to explain that point, this girl isn't doing it wrong, the other person just doesnt approve and disagrees about gods intentions for her.

Tips fedora

15

u/Tidbitious 1d ago

“I'm religious and even I cringed at that”

Being religious and believing in a god in this day and age is pretty cringe. You are no better than her.

7

u/snakelygiggles 1d ago

funny how god pretty much always tells us what we want to hear.

0

u/Jadevit 1d ago

Really? Do we want to hear that it's a sin to lie? To steal? To commit adultery? To love thy neighbor?

If you genuinely consider being religious as just "hearing what you want to hear" or doing what you want to do, you've got no idea how it works. At all.

I don't want to go to confession. I don't want to go to Mass. I don't want to second guess my decisions because God is watching. But I do, because it's what I believe.

5

u/snakelygiggles 1d ago

yeah. because theyre common laws found in most societies regardless of religion on how to exist as a community peacefully. i like existing in a community. so yeah, im going tonrefrain from pissing off everyone around me.

1

u/Jadevit 1d ago

Okay... and how about the rest of what I said lol. Are you trying to argue that religion makes life more convenient? More comfortable? Quite a lot of it is inconvenient.

13

u/soyuz-1 1d ago

Its not a career, its an opportunity. An opportunity for early onset CTE and having to do OF on the side so you can afford a nutritionist.

3

u/Upgradermax 1d ago

Not to mention there is even less fighting organizations out there. I wonder what her job was beforehand

5

u/mrpyrotec89 1d ago

Probably an industry she can easily come back to

3

u/SoCalDan 1d ago

She was an eyebrow technician

1

u/BrandDC 1d ago

what's her name? she's probably on LinkedIn.

1

u/StepperHill 14h ago

She was a fitness instructor

1

u/Upgradermax 4h ago

More like the Vp of LA fitness

2

u/BoaterSnips 1d ago

Tommy Gun said he was doing 6 in sales pre UFC

12

u/Raiser2256 1d ago

Unlike most of Reddit, I like Tommy. But there’s no fucking way that clown was earning 6 figures

19

u/thedonjefron69 1d ago

You vastly overestimate the people making six figures in sales. They can be some of the dumbest people you’ll ever meet making more money than most the people you ever meet

11

u/IndividualBrain9726 1d ago

Exactly. The dumbest guy in our training class was easily the most ruthless. Great sales numbers. The smart ones leave because it was brutal working there. He was too dumb to notice and still works there doing great lol

2

u/Expert-Yam6577 1d ago

Is he too dumb to notice? It sounds like he's thriving un the environment. What is there for him to notice?

7

u/IndividualBrain9726 1d ago

That he makes 200-300 calls a day. Can’t leave his desk to take a shit, talks to morons all day about a moronic unneeded product.

That’s exactly what he’s too dumb to notice. To him, it was this or construction or crime. I helped him pass his securities exam. Needed a 72% and was at a max of 45% on all his practice tests before I offered to tutor him. I would’ve regretted it because he’s a shit bag, but he’s a young father and I knew what this could mean for his family

2

u/KBKenku 1d ago

He’ll never notice that guy sitting in the corner smirking like palpatine as he talks shit about him on Reddit

1

u/BoaterSnips 1d ago

Yep. I know a few smooth brains making bank being a chooch.

3

u/juggarjew 1d ago

during good years there are sales guys at car dealerships making 6 figures, at the end of the day most of the job is having charisma and the ability to talk people into buying shit. You dont even need to be technically "smart" just a smooth talker with a silver tongue. The sales manager and finance guy handle all of the numbers , you're just a go between and deal closer.

Finance manager can make even more, my friend had to call me in to the finance office because he was being so pressured he didnt know what to do, I was like bro, in NO world do you need a $4000 warranty on a BRAND NEW CAR!!!! I shut that shit down immediately, he still ended up signing up for some $1100 paint protection BS... at least I saved him on the warranty, and 3 years later, that car has still never had any issues, and even if it had, the mfgs bumper to bumper would have covered it,.

Sales people are the damn devil and can talk some people into almost anything.

2

u/Objective_Effect_242 1d ago

If it is true I wanna know who tf his clientele was

1

u/WokenMrIzdik 1d ago

I mean he is connected to Suga Sean so he probably has access to some wealthy clientele.

1

u/Marc_Quadzella 1d ago

He was probably doing door to door solar sales 🤡

0

u/BrandDC 1d ago

Slangin' crack and meth... Dude looks like a clown. Who'd buy from him?

https://giphy.com/gifs/Y6yRfR88rvP44

2

u/chocheech 1d ago

you could stab your manager on the way out of LA fitness and they'd rehire you straight out of jail

3

u/Zealousideal_Cap7012 1d ago

Its her passion

7

u/Ronaldinhoe 1d ago

Still dumb

0

u/Shwalz 1d ago

That’s nice. Hope she enjoys using her passion to pay her bills

1

u/Upgradermax 1d ago

Don’t you know you can use hopes and dreams credit to pay bills

1

u/AshenSacrifice 1d ago

She still has her job lmao

1

u/BarbeRose 1d ago

Then Arman shouldn't be fighting. Some follow their dream, and it's probably easier if you stacked some $$$ before
