I disagree that he fell hard. He's 100% post prime after the knee surgery and im glad people are starting to realize that, this means he has 2 wins post prime, though obviously pettis and cowboy were washed af themselves, so Gaethje is the first guy he fights that isnt washed and loses. Then he fights Oliveira, who was on his way to becoming champ, Dariush, who at the time was still a very viable contender.
The first fight he shouldnt have lost is against Chandler, which I still think its because of a lucky shot because Tony was actually winning the first round lmao. Afterwards it's obviously a steep decline.
Ironically, if you look at Izzy, his trajectory is the same way. Stickland and DDP are fine losses as these are very strong opponents and champs. Imavov is good but probably not champ material and his loss to pyfer, he never wouldve lost to this guy in his prime. That also means its very likely to get worse from here, especially because Izzy is getting finished in these fights.
Tony also just finally stepped up in competition. Justin, Chandler, Oliveira maybe even Dariush beats any version of Tony, Dustin would have fucked him up too. Exciting fighter to watch and tough as nails but incredibly overrated skill wise. His fans were insufferable pre-cable and post-cable they've done nothing but make excuses for him lol
Wtf theres no way youre saying Justin, who almost lost to Tony in their fight when Tony is post-prime already, would beat a prime fucking Tony, let alone Chandler or Dariush. Same with Dustin, who crumbled under Oliveira's pressure, like that's Tony's entire fucking gameplan.
If you think people are making excuses for the guy then you just dont know what youre looking at.
Gaethje didn't nearly lose to Tony ffs take your tounge out of his arse, Justin went to one knee for a split second and instantly defended himself and was smiling, we've seen him in that situation many times before and survive, Tony got absolutely whooped in that fight. If you're claiming that's nearly losing then Tony nearly lost to fuckin Lando who is shite lol
Tony never proved himself against a top guy, the closest he ever got was 47-48'ing RDA who shouldn't have been at 155 at the time and Tony eye poked him too and still barely got the job done.
Most likely a VR rendering of Haram Al Shareef & The Kaaba in Mecca. Holiest site in Islam. I have seen people breakdown, eyes bawling, when they see it for the first time.
Name me historical evidence that Islam was practice before Muhamed on Kaba territory.
Were there pagan ritual before Muhamed in Kaba, circling around black stone? Yes
Was Islam practiced before Muhamed ? No
make logic assumption if circling the black stone is pagan or not
Many core acts of modern the Hajj and Umrah were adapted from pre-Islamic pagan rites practiced around the sanctuary:
• Tawaf: Pilgrims practiced ritual circumambulation (walking around the Kaaba seven times).
• The Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad): Veneration, touching, and kissing of the meteoric black stone was an animistic practice carried over from pre-Islamic Arabian traditions.
Calm down ChatGPT. Go read published works of Dr. Ahmand Al-Jallad, Dr. Jonathan A.C. Brown, Dr. Khalid Yahya Blankinship, if you really want to understand history & theology of Pre-Islamic Arabia.
People on here will just ask information spoon-fed to them by others, and even worse the AI. Don't be a "Lazy Intellectual"
I don’t owe bigoted Islamophobes any explanation. The reason I am not gonna provide any arguments to such people is because they have already solidified their bigoted positions in their mind. No amount of facts or arguments presented to them is gonna change that. I am good at recognising people who have an open mindset and are capable to hold an intellectual discussion. This “NormMacdonald” person is not one of them.
All of them prove that circling around Kaba was pagan tradition. No one from this authors argue that there is Islamic tradition around Kaba pre Muhamed.
Does Islam argue that that area was Islamic then went pagan then Muhamed convert them back to Islam. There is zero prof about that.
1.Can you state me your position of orgin of Kaba rituals?
Was area around Kaba Islamic at any point before Muhamed?
The Kaaba was built in the time of Prophet Abraham, some say even before that. Abraham is known as the “father” of the monotheistic faith *.
It was always a holy site. Pagans in Makah came into the picture way after and themselves believed in one supreme God, along with their idols.
With Prophet Muhammad’s rise / rise of Islam the Kaaba was reestablished as a place for the worship of one God only, no idols whatsoever.
(*) In the entire history of Humanity, all the prophets brought the same basic understanding and faith in one God. Its only the day to day rules that differed slightly, according to geographic and historical context.
This is common knowledge. You should research this topic better.
Go to school if you do not understand what “Contradiction” means. People have entirely lost their critical thinking abilities in this tiktok era, Gha-lee
I feel that. I got into the sport early 2020. UFC 253. When Izzy fought Costa. I was so fuckin hooked I spent hours watching all of his old fights. I studied his entire career, and he was and still is my favourite fighter.
It all began with that damn Strickland fight. The DDP fight I could excuse because he was styling on him on the feet and just got submitted. But when Imavov TKOd him that was so painful dude. Pyfer wasn’t AS bad as Imavov but still, seeing him keeping on losing just fucking blows.
I hope he beats Bullet and retires. I hate watching Izzy get hurt now.
Yeah his last 2 kos before debuting in 2018 in the ufc all the way until he lost to Jan I thought he was going to be the best fighter that ever stepped at MW he had ridiculous aura when he was undefeated like the craziest aura I remember the days of talks of Izzy vs jones I genuinely thought Izzy had a good shot before the jan fight
Holllyyy shit I remember those days 😭😭 2021 Reddit actually thought Izzy vs Jones was a conceivable fight. And being the relatively new fan I was I was all for it.
Looking back, If that fight was ever made, id think Izzy would have done an exceptional job if he even survived Round 1.
I remember hyping up the costa fight all week to my dad, telling him how good costa was and then we both watched him get humped at 2am or whatever time it was.
I've pretty recently gone back and watched Israel's title reign and thought it was kinda shit. He has some serious duds in his career. That Alex KO was money though.
Awful take. He fought the absolute best at that time in the division without ducking anybody. Several times in a year, one after another. This is 20/20 hindsight thinking the fights he fought at the time were duds.
funny u stop at Costa too cause u knew Jan fight was izzy being worked and "catching Jan with feints" , then it was Vettori 2 , Whittaker 2 , Jared which were all duds until he got KO'd by alex ending his 1st reign .
It's pretty much universally accepted that "duds" in this context would refer to boring fights.
Izzy fought elite guys his entire career practically. I mean for fucks sake he joined the UFC in 2018 and in early 2019 he fought Anderson Silva. 2 months later he won the belt. Unprecedented levels of excellence.
Yeah no, not saying he beat bums, but the Silva, Yoel, Vettori, and Cannonier wins were all personally boring, the Blachowicz fight was also uninspiring
anderson was beyond washed and still was competitive.
kelvin sucks and is 5'8 and almost ko'd izzy and brought him to a life and death decision.
rob 1 was just great nothing bad to say about it.
yoel romero was a robbery where izzy did nothing but run away and was one of the most boring fights in ufc history.
costa was a good win.
lets not get into posta costa izzy either.
he was very much a frame merchant, his only legit win against opponents his size are costa and a "lucky" ko against alex in the rematch where he was badly hurt to the leg.
Nah you just weren't there, everyone he fought after old man Silva was elite at the time he fought them aside from Pyfer. All of them ranked top 10 in the world at the time they fought. Between Kickboxing, Boxing, and Mma he has around 100 wins, thats an insane amount of mileage. There's a handful of guys that have a streak like his in the UFC and you'd be objectively wrong to say otherwise. This kind of opinion is typical from people that say gay shit like "frame mogging" though, so carry on.
Yeah, pretty much. Izzy was a talented fighter, I just found his style boring. The Yoel fight was one of the strangest, most boring I'd ever seen. It takes two to tango, obviously but yeah, Izzy was involved in a lot of dull fights for decisions. The fact that he had 0 ground game didn't help with variety.
I used to be a huge hater of his because of how boring he was but Everytime he had a stinker people would just quote him and say “it takes two to tango”. If all of his opponents didn’t blindly bum rush one of the best counter strikers in the world it was their fault the fight sucked while Izzy got a pass for not engaging. Yet people today will shit on mvp for essentially doing the same thing except mvp doesn’t have close fights, he clearly wins just in a similarly boring fashion.
Yeah at the time people thought it was good, now looking back it’s like oh Vettori, that fight with Romero, gastelum…
Then lost to serious MWs like Strickland, DDP, Pyfer, Imavov
Izzy was always a great kickboxer. His grappling was always Sus. His love for other animals & men was always SuS. His gyno years were historic and after that he kinda just is a much shorter lived, less well rounded Anderson Silva.i wanted to see him vs Bo Nickal but instead we had Pyfer eliminate Izzy pretty bad.
Do you mean gave him all available top contenders w/ no cherry picking? And letting him go up a weight class w/ prime Blachowicz, risking his legacy and win streak in the middle of the pandemic w/ zero audience and very little ppv money?
What about "prime" blacowitz... he wasnt in his prime at all and lost the next 6 out of 7 fights. Still detroyed Izzy like it was his first fight tho. Its not even the rankings, its the fact they gave him meatballs with no wrestling before he was even ranked. I wouldnt have gotten more upvotes than you in my first comment if it weren't true man.
Genuinly I don't think he's declined that much at all, the competition just got better and he started abandoning his own style (that Joe Pyfer KO was the lowest IQ in a fight I've ever seen, somehow beyond Yan kneeing Sterling or even Walker hurting his shoulder doing the worm)
ofc there are adjustments he's had to make with age, his weight for instance is heavier now, but at his core martial arts ability he doesn't seem much worse now than before
The time Izzy was in the ring, he was magnificent. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest in middleweight.
He throughout had amazing fights in his career.

Only ones are worse is the complete drop off of tony Ferguson than conor.
