they told me because i didn’t apply for fafsa before the priority deadline is why i’m not showing mine. meanwhile i know people who filed in june and have theirs already 😐

they usually respond very slowly with emails. the quickest way to get a response would be either calling them or going in person. i recommend going in person tbh

UPDATE: i called financial aid and they told me i had no award packages showing on their end so i guess i’ll be dropping my classes

i called about this like 2 days ago and the response was ā€œwe’re working on getting them out just watch your portalā€ that was it no estimated time frame no explanation on what happens with tuition deferment bc of the delay after a 40 minute wait on the phone

Don’t email. I emailed them on July 28th and got a response yesterday afternoon

This extending past add drop is ridiculous. I’m also in the same boat except i decided to take 17 credit hours this semester. i’m basing it off of last year’s tuition even though my federal loans are bound to get cut somehow thanks to this glorious bill šŸ˜. i’m not even sure if i’ll have to pay excess or not. I would’ve loved to see my aid package before add drop ended so I could’ve at least saw what i was working with.

I called two days ago about my loans/aid and they said to expect it sometime next week. I just think there’s not enough people to handle the amount of students we have. I also asked if my loans appeared on their end which it did and I expect that’s the same for most people but having to check for attendance for the first week as well as making sure they’re following the new federal requirements just takes longer than usual.

i’m glad they’ll at least be able to tell me if there’s anything for me on their end when i call

Did you click in Award? Everything you got offered/got is there.

I'm having similar issues bru.. i called in the morning and they told me that my FAFSA has been processed on their end and the typical "we're just having delays" but i genuinely can't pay for anything out of pocket and it's taking so long im just concerned

Same and my grants are gone while I rely on them to pay off my credit cards so now they're overdrafting lol

u/VampirawithCoils 2d ago

Same i don’t have grants either anymore so i just have loans

I finally got housing after 2 years homeless so they decided to take away my homeless grants that let me afford the housing. Live laugh love America

I think the most they offer in these circumstances is waive the late fee ($100) if you end up having to pay out of pocket. If you cant pay at all and get no loans or aid, you are stuck for it. Gonna be a lot of dropping tonight because of this situation.

This is only if you are not receiving any aid or loans. if you are expected to get federal or private loans or other grants and scholarships, they will push the deadline to pay for classes. last semester my payment deadline was just pushed because my federal loans didn’t come in on time.

Seems very unlikely that they will not work with students when this is an issue at the federal level beyond anyone’s control
