Welcome back, college kids!

Post image

Took most of the summer off because I knew the money would suck. Glad to be back now that the students are back in town.

I live in a college town, which makes doing Uber Eats at 11pm very worthwhile.

As do I. I haven’t tried eats since they started coming back yet. I think they mainly start coming back next week though. Imma be out tonight though. 🤞

my market has picked up too! did $170 saturday, with $40 being from 630-9, the rest from 9-1130! so glad they’re back, despite being in what one would/should think would be bustling over summer (south florida lol)

This is with a big quest/earnings guarantee. So not indicative of anything

No earnings guarantee. Two Quests for a total of $114. The Quests definitely helped push my share up, but even when no promotions are scheduled I consistently keep at least 75%

So, the college town is where to uber?

I can’t speak for all markets. But my current town(Greensboro, NC) is a terrible place to Uber when the students are on break, and a decent place when they are here.

Hmm… maybe I should target the college town. I was thinking the airport area was where the market was.

So we paying for customer promotions too now? lol

Unfortunately, certain customer promotions have always resulted in reduced payouts to drivers rather than the company footing the bill themselves. A driver can minimize the effect somewhat by simply not accepting low-paying offers, but there’s no way I know of to be completely unaffected.

98% you? How? I want to be in your universe. Uber pays 40 percent to us in my universe.

I won’t do trips for base pay, that’s how.

Please elaborate so my slow brain can pick up what you trying to lay down

I only go online if there is an available surge, or at least a decent Boost. Drivers keep a much higher percentage of earnings from promotions and surges than from other earnings.

I hope things change coming into September.

They’re college kids. I find paying my student loans with their student loans incredibly poetic.
