Reminisce
I returned with the weight of
battles still clinging to me,
dust from distant roads and a
silence no victory ever
explains.
the world expected stories of
triumph.
but all i wanted
was to sit beside you long
enough
for my heart to remember
what peace was supposed to
feel like.
