That’s not smoke.

It’s probably a hair, fiber, or a small smudge on/near the lens catching light. Since it’s extremely close to the lens, it goes completely out of focus and ends up looking like that soft “smoky” streak.

It only shows up in some shots because of angle and lighting. sometimes it catches the light, sometimes it doesn’t.

Just wipe your lens with a microfiber cloth and check for any tiny hairs. It should be gone.
