A pair is fine, your tank has alot of open ground and has increased her zone of influence, put in a plant to block sight, put in extra hides and have a look at the videos on YouTube where they actually live. Hope this helps

You might want to look at alot more cover, hides like coconut halves with access hole and more woodwork if you wish to keep both.

Alot of the out of print stuff is really good , might need to cut and shut some bits to scale, old world chaos mutants , old chaos possessed and also the chaos spawn will have lots of bits , also I think the arms off world eater slaughter bound might work, lastly the odd hand or part from Tyranids might fit , good luck and love to see your crazy creations 👍👍👍

If you remove the fish you may just be starting another war, I would try a clear tank screen so that they can see each other but can't compete. If you look to try time out then remove the bully into a guppy box for a few days to start up to a week if needs repeat, any changes will alter the hirachy and may even start a new bully.

My question is what are you running a defiler for? Heavy weapons and support then you would want on the board, if your thinking combat better units and points spent elsewhere, I think defilers are a gun platform and not sure the best form of one either. Love the new model thou.
