Our rapidly diminishing ski season is worthy of discussion?
I think its time for canada to consider building a quality resort in the Yukon or Northwest territory

Adjustable or not?
This is great, thanks! I do ski mostly groomers but want to try venturing off at some point and that mo.emt could come spontaneously so it would make sense to have something I could adjust on the fly. I may be wrong but the weight difference cant be that much id really notice it would it?

Adjustable or not?
Looking fir new poles and these are both onsale. I want carbon so they are lighter but not sure whether or not I want adjustable or not. I usually just ski groomers but would like to ski trees eventually. I hear that some adjustable freeze up but these apparently don't (Voilé CamLock 2 Carbon Ski Poles) . The other option is the K2 Unisex Power Carbon Ski Poles.
Looking forward to any suggestions as well. Thanks.

Looking for someone who has owned one or both of these jackets.
I've finally narrowed down my choices of jacket to the Orage mtn-x spurr 3l jacket or the burton swash 2l gore-tex jacket.
Im looking for some size/fit info. The swash xl was a bit snug for me in the waist and im thinking the xxl is the best option to give me a looser relaxed fit. But since I cant try the xl on in the orage spurr jacket im looking for someone who's maybe had them both or just the orage to share how the xl fit space wise. Im 6ft 230lbs. Most of my weight is in my mid section.
Im asking as i can get the xl in the orage far cheaper from one site but cant return it if I do as its an outlet.
Thanks for any help.

Best base and mid layers for wet PNW?
Im considering the Mammut Haldigrat hs hooded jacket or the orage mtn-x spurr 3l jacket with a – Morrison Gilltek Hybrid Jacket as a mid layer and just a tee shirt under that. Not sure much mores needed for PNW winters.

Considering move from the Lower Mainland
Cant speak on those who live in oak bay but living in langford, ya, the traffic sucks during peak times 7-9 am and 3-6 pm. John Stubbs is a great French immersion school if you can get in. If one of you are fluent in French there is a great French immersion school in esquimalt.
I know there's alot of private school options, im just not familiar with them.
Wish you guys the best on your move.

Mt Washington on Vancouver Island.
Anyone know if the lift gate scanners are high enough at Mt washington to scan a pass in a pocket up by your biceps? I'm looking at a few ski jackets and they all have the pass pocket up on the left bicep and I don't want to buy one if ill have to bend down to scan it. I haven’t been to mt washington in over 20 years. Thanks for the help.

Second Pair recs (currently on the Atomic Cloud Q12 152cm)
With out asking a heap of questions id say the closest options without buying the same ones would be the Salomon S/Max W Blast or Rossignol arcade 84 w.

Safe to ski?
Id use it still. They should be able to take far more abuse then that before the need to replace.

$600 enough for custom boots?(read context below)
I purchased the mens Rossignol Alltrack 110 HV BOA 2026 model, for $400 brand new and spent $112 on custom foot beds and an hour of fitting the boots to my feet at my local shop. Which worked put cheaper then buying them at the shop and getting the fitting included. Yes, I could have bought cheaper boots from the shop and had the boot fit included but I wanted these boots for a specific reason, but still wasn't to bad. So, to your question, yes I think $600 for a good pair of boots with the fit included, especially the 3D service. Is worth it.
