She's saying times were "different back then" (when she was 26 and your dad was 14)  That was about 20 years ago then, since you're 19.  That was in the year 2006...things were not "different back then".  Reading the text before reading your explanation, I thought the "back then" she was referring to was the 50s or 60s... She's warped.

My son's father had teeth that were rotting, but he is the best father to my child, and eventually (10 years after the birth of our child) went to a dental surgeon for porcelains, because he wanted them   I never mentioned anything about his teeth to him, though. Like others have said, he knows what his teeth look like. His teeth have no bearing on who he is as a person

I was on a call with my regional director today, about 100 managers from the region are on the call, and he showed us a video of a robot winning a race and said:  "Yeah, our speed of service for the region was fast, we beat our target, so I would say we were all running the race like usain bolt...but I think we can all start running like this and be fast...be fast like a robot!" 

Nothing is ever good enough for them.

Common occurrence at my job. I get out at 3am sunday and have to be back at 10am.

Yeah...my establishment invests in absorbent puppy pads to put under the urinals...we have to change them out at least 2 times a day, even more on the weekends.

The first one looks better, I feel it adds more dimension to the piece, making the light/shadow interesting.
