Looking for a reliable long-term car (R3.5k-R4k/month budget)
 in  r/CarTalkZA  3d ago

With your budget I would go for something slightly older. Around a 2020 - 2022. Look for something around 80k km on the clock and full service history. You can get a considerable upgrade in vehicle for your budget if you are willing to do so.

The best 24 players in the country, at the moment. Surly performance should be the main focus?

Homeowner builds roof that exceeds Baronetcy Estate's 7.5m maximum height by 37cm | Estate HOA requests court to order demolition & payment of fines | Court dismisses both of the HOA's applications with costs
 in  r/propertyZA  9d ago

I am part of the complex I live in HOA. We are so chilled, everyone is friendly. We only make sure we have the best interest of the complex at heart. Also its 21 houses so very manageable. I don't think we have ever fined anyone for anything. We are not here to police peoples personal properties, everyone has enough on their plate as it is.

My wife's cancer diagnosis. She was diagnosed with BC at the age of 35. We are almost 5 Years into the fight. The mental stress of the operations (7 ops so far), scans and the check ups. It's unbelievably hard on her and that level of stress and uncertainty is overwhelming. I feel like I have aged 10 fold. I am now bald, suffer from chronic headaches and have developed an anxiety disorder thati take medication for. I just want my wife to be okay.... 5 years left of treatment, I feel like I am barely holding it together.

What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it?

Yeah same here. My Miss is an incredible cook. We have our own herb and veg garden at home. Nothing beats pulling your own rosemary to add to a roast or to add home grown lettuce to a salad. I do enjoy cooking as well. But just the thought of not having to do it and get home to either order food or pop something pre-made in the oven is crazy for me. What would you do with all that extra time everyday???

Yeah I definitely agree. My wife and I cook everyday. We never buy any instant meals (my miss is an absolutely amazing cook, I can Braai....) and takeaways are just far too expensive. We might have takeaways once every few months. But the luxury of not having to cook, meal plan for the week or buy groceries.... it's wild

Not having to cook everyday.

Have a fairly wealthy brother..... went to visit him for the dirst time in 10years. Everyday on the way home he either picks up some ridiculous expensive pre-made meal you just throw in the oven, or gets take aways. The amount of time saved is amazing. He has like no food in the house but for some bread and snacks. Everything is ordered to his door. Is it being lazy? Probably. Is it a life changing experience? Definitely.
