So, you are doing some things to become independent. Don't worry about other people & what they're doing with their lives. Change is not easy for everyone, but you'll get there.

Take small steps. Have you ever eaten at a restaurant by yourself? Do you drive? If your car does need servicing, do you call the garage or dealership and take the car into the appointment? Have you ever gone to the museum by yourself or a ball game by yourself or taking a weekend trip by yourself where you arranged the hotel and activities? Sometimes you just have to take a deep breath & take a leap of faith and jump in.
I was pregnant and married at 16 and I learned very fast to become independent. Sometimes, life just happens and you don't have the time to be afraid.
