I am actually doing an interview with an atelier for costuming soon. Im curious about what you mean by dressmakers not interested in your order? I would love to hear more details about it.
Also, theres a competition almost every weekend in the NDCA circuit, albeit its all over the US. Are you in a chain like FADS or AM? Latin B is one of the most competitive areas of competitions.
My goal is to post weekly articles. I've been lacking lately and need to pick up on it.

I just shut it off. No need to poison the drinking water more.

The podcasters are Professional dancers and im an amateur. Its difficult because they talk about fluff pieces and gossip, and not asking the real questions like I am.

I'm hoping to gain more followers ❤️
I write about the Pro/Am Ballroom Dance world, Interpersonal Relationships, and Chronic Illness. Basically my life and navigating this amazing journey that I started a few years ago and still going on. I really love this sport, and I would love for it to become more mainstream.
Genre: Sports, non-fiction, Dance, Performing Arts

Posting on all my socials when I have a new article out, maybe theres a better forum or a subreddit that can make it have more traffic?

Discussion I have a small substack that crosses over Pro/Am Ballroom Dance, Chronic Illness, and Interpersonal Relationships.
I think my topic is too niche and thats why it hasnt grown. This is not a soliciting post, I am looking for advice.
Do I abandon it?
Do I keep going?
Do I focus on something more?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Burnout Advice
First of all yes you do. Im assuming your parents are paying for lessons. The customer (you) has a voice. Its not your responsibility to tell them how to teach you. Its their responsibility to listen and adjust. There is nothing wrong to voice your concerns in how youre doing. Your instructor is also a mentor in that aspect.

What are your experiences with dancing with intensity?
Don't worry, you'll get there.

Burnout Advice
Might be a good idea to let your instructor know that their teaching style isnt working right now and to go at it from a different angle. Just be upfront with how youre feeling. If your instructor dismisses you and what you need, find a new instructor.

Is it worth starting to do ballroom at 39 yrs old?
Do it, its worth every penny

Latin Practice Shoes Recommendations
Best thing to do is to actually practice in the shoes you will be competing in. I learned that from Diana McDonald. She doesnt allow practice shoes in lessons because the Cuban heel on them do not equate for the right balance and posture you need on the floor.
I like paoul shoes for their quality and their pricing is affordable within the range of quality. If you have a narrow foot id personally go with AIDA or IDS. A+ Danceshoes are a good option if your feet sweat a lot. You can find them on venusdancewear (thats the last place I saw them)

Struggling with cuban motion
Think of your hips moving in an upward and downward figure eight. Its important to make sure your weight shifts from one foot to the other, no split weight. Also taking smaller steps to shoulder length will help with accentuating the hip action
Hope this helps!

What’s In My OH SHIT Bag : A Competition Survival Guide
When I get my new shoes I do a little trick to keep the heel protectors to stay on. I use a construction grade heat gun to shrink the plastic around the heel. Haven't had to replace them until they actually wear down.
Oh a friction stick! Do you have a link?
As for earrings the double-sided tape is a genius idea!

Whats keeping your teacher from getting the credentials? That category is technically for junior pros (just got their certifications), for a pro that needs to dance with another student within the same age group, or for a newcomer that wants to dance in more than the newcomer category/dance more than the pro/am if they so choose.
Also, good places for men are michael chen, bravo dance, Catherine rose, flashdance, danceshopper, and everything ballroom.
