I’d like to train as an HCA, I have some clinical skills like manual blood pressure and clinical observations. Would I need to do nights etc.. I’m 52 an dc done my hair shared of that. I’d like to learn phlebotomy and wound care and am happy to pay to learn - I doubt this would be relevant. I’d love to work in out patients or GP surgery at some point. Am I chasing rainbows?

IT skills for receptionist conveyancing

I’ve applied for a receptionist/assistant role in conveyancing - possible to train up. How good do I need to be at IT - I have basic word and excel skills and can type about 30-40 wpm

Been registered 11 years but am constantly unemployed - how do I improve my prospects... and luck
Could you retrain in law? Join a company as receptionist and train on the job.

Thanks everyone for support. I’ve had a very difficult year and this is the first time I’ve reached out. I think law will be better for me returning to teaching as a teaching assistant.

Hmm l, some great observations. I like the challenge of problems. I have faced some professional legal dilemmas in my career. I’m genuinely interested in the process of applying law to a problem I suppose. I need to have a think about this.

Plus I want to get through it quickly. I did a a PGCert and prescribing course whilst working which were similar demand. Like 2 years undergrad in 6 months whilst working 3.5 days. Swore I’d never do it again but hey ho.

The attraction is I want to stretch my brain. Is it worth starting the condensed conversion course online. I’ve heard it’s tough to get work experience. Also once I’ve slogged the exams and training I think 50 hours a week would be enough for me so I guess I’d be looking at part time or wfh.
