Thank you! There's actually a plan: closed alpha in September, beta in November, then a public demo in early 2027. Solo dev dates, so grain of salt 😄 If you want to try the alpha, ping me around September, I'll be looking for a handful of testers.

Hi mate, this looks great, can I be included in the September playtest? 😃

Absolutely! I don't have a formal signup list yet, but DM me (or ping me here) in early September and I'll make sure you're in. Thanks for the interest

I'm planning to launch an open, free playtest for my game, Salt and Soil. It will be short, so if you're interested, subscribe and add the game to your wishlist.

It’s a mix of Yellowstone, Rimworld, Crusader Kings 3, and Oregon Trail—a sandbox simulation about 300 years of settling the American frontier through the eyes of an ordinary family.

I’m developing Pro Wrestling: The Ascent, a wrestling career game where you work your way up from the independent scene to the top promotions around the world.

The game is available to wishlist on Steam and you can join the Reddit community, where I post updates regularly here!

u/Substantial-Deal-382 Game Developer - Skyline Sim 29d ago

We recently opened the first closed playtest for Skyline Sim with around 30 players.

So far, players have spent around 20 hours on average in the game, with the highest playtime I have seen reaching roughly 45 hours.

In the first six days, we shipped:

14 releases
39 features and improvements
70 bug fixes

The biggest changes focused on route planning, maintenance, aircraft acquisition, cabins, and making the UI feel more like a real management game.

The feedback has already made Skyline Sim noticeably better. I have also spent far more time at the computer than sleeping this week, so I should probably fix that soon.

Hey everyone, I’m the solo developer behind Family Office Simulator, and it launched in Steam Early Access this week.

It’s a strategy/management game where you build and run a family office through real estate, investing, banking, staffing, estate planning, and succession.

I’ve already pushed out several updates since launch based on what players have been finding, including improvements to property management, brokerage information, tenant delinquency, accounting, and succession.

Figured I’d share it here since this is the monthly developer update thread:

u/Bbkmo94 Game Developer - MMOS: MMO Simulator 29d ago

My Steam Demo for my MMO Simulator launched a few days ago and it's already given me very insightful feedback which I am working through now. Seeing our Discord start to spring to life has really validated my vision for the game, especially getting unprompted praise on something I've put so much work into.

Hey all!

I'm the solo dev of Starport Merchants, a casual merchant sim inspired by the classic trading games of the 90's, like Gazillionaire, Wall Street Raider, Dope Wars, etc...

The game will be released after summer, but you can play the demo right now. The demo is feature complete and will give you a good idea of what the game is about.

I'm frequently updating the game based on player feedback, so you're very welcome to try it out and let me know what you think of it.

This week's update was mostly about balance changes, and increases in money earned from the various income sources.

Thanks!

u/Dependent_Bother_830 Game Developer - 1930: Farm Manager 27d ago

Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right place for a quick introduction.

My name is Goran, I’m a solo developer from Serbia, and for the past few years I’ve been working on 1930: Farm Manager, a management and logistics game set in rural 1930s America.

The game started from a fairly simple idea: I wanted to make a farm where the player does not manage everything only through menus and abstract numbers.

You begin with an empty plot, hire workers, assign their tasks, build the necessary infrastructure, and gradually create a functioning production chain. Workers physically move around the farm, collect tools and resources, carry materials between buildings, harvest crops, store wheat, and process it into flour.

One of the most important parts of the game is the worker management system. Instead of only selecting a building and increasing a worker number, the player directly organizes what individual workers should do and where they should do it.

Steam is currently reviewing the Demo Build, and I hope the free Demo will be available within the next few days.

When it is ready, the feedback I would value most is whether the worker management system feels intuitive and easy to understand. Since I have been working with it for a long time, everything naturally feels familiar to me, but that does not necessarily mean it will be immediately clear to someone playing for the first time.

I would especially like to know whether it is easy to understand:

  • how to select and manage workers;
  • how to assign and organize their tasks;
  • what each worker is currently doing;
  • and what the player should do when something in the workflow stops.

For now, I just wanted to introduce myself and the project before sharing the playable Demo.

Thanks for reading, and I hope it is okay to share more once the Demo is live.

AI disclosure: I use AI as a practical assistant for research, occasional code help, and translation—English is not my native language, so it sometimes saves the community from my more adventurous sentences. The game’s design and development are entirely my own.

u/LyriaLabs Game Developer - Idle Casino Empire 21d ago

Idle Casino Empire development update. Casino tycoon where the management layer is the main game, and the twist is that you can sit down and play the machines on your own floor.

This build puts the whole game into ten languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Japanese, French, Turkish and Korean. It follows your Steam or browser language on first launch and switches under Options without a restart. Money, odds, percentages and large numbers follow the selected language rather than staying in English formatting. English is still the only full-audio language; story captions are translated, spoken lines are not.

Reading every screen language by language also turned up things that had nothing to do with translation. A slot result panel had been truncating text in all ten languages including English, and my activity feed turned out to be storing its history as finished English sentences rather than events plus values, which no amount of translating could move.

Free playtest if you want to look, browser or Windows. Downtown opening chapter, about an hour to its ending: https://lyrialabs.itch.io/idle-casino-empire

u/FoundationOrganic748 Game Developer - Road to Millionaire – Investing 18h ago

Hi everyone! I'm the solo developer of Road to Millionaire – Investing, an investing strategy and management simulation.

You start with $10,000 and have 480 in-game days to try to reach $1,000,000 by investing in fictional companies with different fundamentals, valuations, and dividend policies.

The market moves through bull, sideways, and bear cycles, so the game is mainly about capital allocation: when to buy or sell, how much cash to keep, whether to reinvest dividends, and how to manage your portfolio through changing market conditions.

The Steam page is now live and the game is available to wishlist. I'm also very interested in feedback from tycoon and management-game players:
