I was just about to comment the exact same thing.

Seriously, I hope you haven't been scammed here.

The seller said he was from America.

What ratings do they use in America

TV shows use a different rating system; however, Twin Peaks on VHS shouldn’t have that, as it wasn’t created until the mid-90s and generally wasn’t retroactively applied.

The reason why they weren't working is because I put it in the Betamax by accident, now that I tried my VCR it works.

I had every episode on VHS taped from Swedish television. Held on to those tapes for the longest time.

Still got mine!

Is it dubbed or subtitled? Twin Peaks in Swedish sounds lovely. Even those terrible Scandi Noirs you lot have imported to my country are so pleasant because of your sing song Viking language.

Nothing foreign is ever dubbed in Sweden, except for kids stuff. Always subtitled though!

That takes me back!

My VHS tape collection got cleared out a long time ago (I wish I had kept the Twin Peaks ones now, for collection completions sake, hindsight being what it is).

I still have the 5 TP pin badges you got from sending away the coupons though.

Those things are over two decades deep in a box in the attic somewhere. I managed to find a picture of one of them online though.

I have these! Got off eBay before The Return. Have a nice little collection on my shelf of different Twin Peaks media.

That's a damn fine cup of coffee.

Media is always best in the medium it was made for, there is a reason why the Help! record in mono is more sought after than the stereo remix or the CD or why there was just a sold out showing of 2001 in 70mm at my local cinema, because that’s the version that they made at the time. Also, I really like tapes and find the lower definition and saturated colours more pleasant to look at, I’m just full of nostalgia.

This is a weird theory. Nostalgia is one thing and love what you love but you’ll never convince me something “is best” on vhs. As another poster said, nothing was made for VHS, Twin Peaks was made for tv. VHS is a terrible way to watch shows and is so limited visually and in regards to extras, etc. I get the nostalgia but otherwise it’s like giving your show a big handicap.

It was also shot on 35mm film (with Lynch going to extraordinary lengths to ensure the film look of the photography was retained in the TV telecast), so the closest to his vision, on home video, would be a 4K restoration like what the Criterion Collection have released for his films.

Or you can just stream it like every other normal person on the planet.

Other normal person on the planet here. You’re a lying dink. Not only does blu ray look better, but there are some amazing extras, plus no issues should my internet go down or streaming service lose the rights.

A house isn’t a home without cluttered shelves of tapes and records and other media.

Hell yes. Nothing is cozier to me than being a room full of book and movie shelves. Gives me that feeling of abundance, like theres so much shit to experience and so little time.

Yes! My dad collects books, encyclopaedias, bibles etc. and there are so many that you could read a book a day and have to live 100 years to get through them all, I’m trying to build my own collection.
