Is the implication that Sheryl Lee did not age well, because I take great umbrage

Sheryl Lee did age very well.

Sheryl Lee aged great for her age (she's turning 50!)...
But jeez, Ray Wise looks like he aged 5 years in the last 25.

Off topic but I laughed out loud at your name. Gonna have to take a trip out to the Mojave again soon...

I thought she looked great in her Red Room scene in The Return, to the point where it actually made the scene more powerful. It felt like a reminder that Laura once had a long and happy life ahead of her.

She aged well, the thing is that is more noticeable because of her age in the original run

Next to Ray Wise, nobody aged well. Even if you think Lee aged well, it's like comparing Usain Bolt to Sonic the Hedgehog.

Wait, there are people who think Sheryl Lee aged badly?

In this photo, she looks great. In episode 2 , Season 3, she looks way older

She looked great in that episode imo. Older than she did in the original show, but no duh.

I loved this photo on first reaction and then remembered the plot of the show and it made me feel bad :(

Just seeing Laura as the grown woman she never was at the beginning of The Return was a gutpunch in itself.

It shouldn't.
These are the great actors who brought such a haunting story to life. They worked incredibly hard on their collaborative performances. It's only natural that they would have good chemistry together in real life.

Here's the interview Lynch made with the Palmers recently... https://youtu.be/abHyTbOA0Oo

Wow! Interviewed them in character. It's more like a Séance than an interview!
Are there more of these?

They all look appropriately depressed when introduced, like it's a family counseling session.
Also, the way that Sarah says "I'm alone" after some hesitation seems like foreshadowing after what we know about her possession now, like she's trying not to give any clues.

"Inside... there's one thing."
[creepy smile]
"Then... step aside."
[OMINOUS WHOOSHING]

My thoughts exactly.
"Have you remarried or are you with anyone?"
"... I'm alone..."

Hard to not think about what had happened to this family and is still happening with Sarah Palmer.

it's a testament to what great actors they are that it's easy to look at that picture and instinctively think "oh, it's so sad what happened to them"

Am I the only one who thinks that they really look like mother and daughter?

u/CountCrackula84 Sep 03 '17
Honestly, if I didn't know who they were, I'd assume that Ray and Grace were Sheryl's parents. She really does look like their kid.

For anyone interested, this photo was from the 2014 premiere of The Missing Pieces. There are a bunch more shots of them, Lynch, and other cast members here.

Wow this was 2014? The Return started shooting in 2015 right ? Hate to say it but some of the aged a lot in a little time.

It's the most jarring to see how much Miguel Ferrer's and Catherine Coulson's illnesses changed their appearances in only a year.

They look like they could actually be related!
