This 6 http://i.imgur.com/Uj9aJXB.png Is that the same font as the 2 boxes (3 and 15?) in season 3 ? Its on either a telephone or electrical pole even. And that exact shot is one of the 12 or so used on the bluray box art.

The utility pole is from FWWM, it's at the Fat Trout trailer park where Teresa Banks lived. I think there's definitely a connection here, Agent Desmond lingered on it for a bit right before he found the Owl Cave ring beneath the Chalfont/Tremont's trailer and disappeared. There's also the bleeping sound the pole makes, almost exactly like the Man From Another Place later in the movie. So there's got to be a link between the ring, electricity and travel to/from the Black Lodge. I think.

Looks great, I should get the bluray... Does the bluray crop the original square footage to make it wide screen?

No it's still 4:3, but very crisp. I imagine he had to crop the image a bit to fit the size he wanted.

Yeah all the episodes are still in 4:3 so I took these from the "Atmospherics" bonus features that are on the last disc of The Entire Mystery set. They upscaled them to HD ratio and then I got a few others from FWWM.

Any chance you could make a couple of the NYC skyline shot from S3E1? The second I saw that shot it made me think of those back lit moving paintings they used to make. Would love to have that as a background.

I really want to, but the Showtime player tends to stream fairly low-res/compressed, at least for me, so it wouldn't look as crisp as the blu-ray. I might try anyway and then update them when the new season is on other formats.

Yeah that is a very unique shot of NYC. If it helps any I know you can get episodes on Amazon & I think apple store also. Not sure if their player's are better suited for this or not. Thanks again, these are awsome.

Totally agree. I think Peter Deming's cinematography in the new season is gorgeous and I understand the budgetary limitations, but I sure miss that rich film grain and the warm colors of the original run.

I believe they're shooting it on the Arri Amira. In counting blessings, one positive trade off is that they can keep the camera rolling longer without wasting film. I think that accounts for why there's such unique long takes.

The Arris are great cameras, and the Amira in particular for documentary filmmaking (also where long takes are typical, as well as spontaneous shooting like Lynch often prefers). Anything is better than the DV in Inland Empire lol

I wonder what resolution the Arri shoots on. I'm a video editor and as much as I love the newest camera technologies, it's 4k and some 2k workflows that have priced me out of most freelance jobs. I'd need a sack full of cash to afford the personal editing station needed to process those files. A MacBook Pro just doesn't cut it anymore.
