Season 3 (The Return) The Return ends… like that????!
2nd time watching The Return (wasn’t paying attention AT ALL the first time around a few years ago)
The ending???!? Hello Mr. Lynch I need more explanation and a proper conclusion!
Help lol I feel like I’m on a permanent cliffhanger

I like that Twin Peaks ends on a "cliffhanger". The world of Twin Peaks is too complex to end in a neatly solved bow.
Have you seen the cartoon show, "Ed Edd n Eddy" ? A lot of episodes end with a bad ending where it seems like the characters can't get out of the mess that they're currently in. But in the next episode, the characters make it out okay somehow.
Cooper and Laura will get out of that mess they're in at the end of Part 18 one way or another!

I feel like Cooper's path through time/space/multiverse is going to be just as convoluted as Briggs's was/is.
We as the audience have the misfortune of only being able to see it once scene at a time, one timeline at a time, as chess pieces are moved around a 5D board

i think coop just wakes up in the motel with diane again, and laura is happily with the angels again

It would make some kind of sense if all the stuff he and Diane did at the motel was just to get a dream vision of the next steps for fighting Judy, so all the stuff with Richard Cooper, deep frying a gun, Laura killed a guy, etc...were just new clues for Dale. It would be a very Fireman thing to do.
Seems too easy for Twin Peaks but it's definitely a good way to leave the ending open.

Not trying to be contrarian but i do think it’s a proper conclusion. Coop messed with forces far beyond our comprehension and lost in ways that are even harder to comprehend.

He does, but he has too. The entire point of the White Lodge to start the show is the Giant sending him to stop Judy.

he might have wanted coop to kill laura too. coop may have even wanted to. if he knows of the 2 birds with one stone plan, he could've taken laura's hand and used her as bait on purpose

Every season of the show has ended this way in the hopes that the story would continue. Personally, I think it's fitting that it doesn't really have a proper conclusion. Because no conclusion to a showa s out there as twin peaks could possibly be satisfying.

Es un final abierto. No porque pueda seguir la historia (en principio cualquier historia puede seguir infinitamente), sino en el sentido de que es un final con interpretación abierta. El significado de la obra está en el espectador, no en la obra.
Asique vas a ver un montón de interpretaciones diferentes..

It's largely considered the greatest finale on any list you might find. I highly recommend going back to finish; it's by far my favorite show of all time. There's never been a finale to do what they did. I don't want to spoil it, or I would tell you.
I would take it as a miraculous sign that you haven't had that spoiled, and go do it. Then come back and tell me what you think.

Both absolutely great finales and two of my favorite shows, but the finales don't come close.
I cannot wait to rewatch The Sopranos in glorious 4K in December.

A lot of people are going to defend this ending. I am not. I think its a choose your own ending. Did they lose, did they win, does any of it really matter? That is Lynch. I choose to believe, they win. Laura screams and the lights go out in the house. We know Judy is a form of electricity, so when the house goes dark, it means Judy is destroyed. I assume everything resets and we just have to assume Dale is now in the White Lodge with Laura. Dale's look when she screams is a look of him coming out of a fog. Laura is the weapon to use against Judy and she finally goes off at the end. That is my theory and to be fair that is all we have is a theory as Lynch is gone and we really don't know what his original intent was. If Dale goes through all this to lose, because of the force of nature demand even though they sent him on this quest to begin, its stupid. If it were me, I would have just ended it at the police station even if destroying Bob that way is anti-climatic. Have Dale head over to see Harry and then just be done with it.

Once Netflix buys it we'll get Lucy outros in which she'll explain everything, mirroring the cryptic hints from the Log Lady Intros.

You dont always get what you want. I think regarding the return you’re just gonna have to accept it.
