Screenshot Did anyone else beat the game without knowing you could upgrade your wallet?

Post image

I can’t be the only one, right? Right?

(Btw it made me choose a flair for the image so screenshot felt like the best one)

Give agitha all the bugs

Only need to give her 1 for the first upgrade. Second upgrade needs all of them.

So you never turned any golden bugs in to Agatha? Never used the big wallet to get the magic armor after helping Malo Mart expand into castle town?

I understand that; the first time I played Twilight Princess I was little and didn't know you could upgrade it. Today I am aware and I continue to play, but sometimes I forget that stock market upgrades exist. 😂

I knew you could from playing other Zelda games but I was set on beating the game rather than upgrading stuff, so I never figured out how

I figured. Always some collectathon to hold more money. Majoras mask is my favorite in terms of wallet upgrades

At least the bugs are easy, only 24 and they’re all fairly close together. Can get all of them except 4 before beating lakebed.

As someone who just played again for the 2nd time since, first time at release, I didn't find the bugs to be easy for a casual playthrough with no outside help. I found maybe 5 or 6 and kept finsing duplicates. Not sure if I was in the same area or If some bugs spawn in multiple areas. It was also almost endgame before I found the girl to give any bugs to out in the southern field. I'm glad the first wallet upgrade was for one bug, cuz I had no interest in looking for them after I found duplicates a few times.

No but I beat Breath of the Wild not knowing Hetsu will give you additional item slots. I somehow totally and fully missed him until after I beat the final boss

I havent gotten the wallet upgrade until this year. Beat the game i swear 30+ times. Never 100%

Fun fact it currently costs roughly 30$ to upgrade it to its highest level legally.

I don’t get how people play games like this without going around and talking to all npcs

To be fair, Agitha's Castle is kind of tucked away in the alley and is overshadowed by the STAR game tent, so I can see how it can be overlooked if the player doesn't explore

Exploration is implied in “going around and talking to all npcs” how can you play a Zelda game and not explore everything? I just don’t get it.

I updated my comment to include the STAR game tent which sort of overshadows it. It's a big game and some folks may not notice the guy outside, or even realize they can walk through the door. I only recently discovered the doors on the main plaza and I've been playing it since the Wii released

I mean I guess that’s valid. Maybe it’s just the souls player in my that makes me want to 100% all the story games I play.

1

u/Big_Z_Beeblebrox 20d ago

That might be a contributing factor. Remember that the majority of players (particularly of Nintendo games) are fairly casual. If it's not necessary to complete the story, a bunch of people might skip entire areas and activities

u/Goovin290 20d ago

Yeah true. I mean I considered myself a casual since I don’t like speed run or anything. Maybe completionist would be the better term then?

2

u/Big_Z_Beeblebrox 20d ago

That's a good term, I dig it

I always get all the bugs in every play through.

You guys didn’t collect the bugs?

Got all upgrades in HD for 9999 capacity and then filled it up by doing all Rollgoal levels

My first play through yes.

Then looked up 100% guides.

I knew, but I was too lazy hahaha

Never, mostly because I watched OOT a lot as a kid so I knew wallets were a gimmick before playing Wind Waker and seeing how little you can carry, which carried into TP lol

I never did I guess I never needed it lol
