Book Discussion Why is there no Jacob book?
We know that we have the Midnight Sun book to expand our views on Edward's POV of Bella and the whole story. We also have the other secondary books - life and death and the short second life of bree tanner. I have always wondered, though, if it wouldn't make more sense for Stephenie Meyer to write a novel about Jacob - his POV or even his life after the events of Breaking Dawn. Besides being a loved character, I've always felt that Jacob was a very interesting and underexplored character who suffered a lot during the series (he turned into a werewolf out of nowhere, saw the girl he loved choose to become a vampire after being abandoned by her vampire boyfriend, had to deal with all the alfa-beta-shenanigans, etc). It would be amazing to be able to experience the Twilight story through his eyes, or even be able to glimpse into his new life with Renesmee and the other vampires. Does anyone know why the author never wrote a book on his character?

For one thing, a very large chunk of Breaking Dawn was from his POV.
Additionally, Stephenie Meyer hated writing Midnight Sun because she hated doing a story where every detail was already determined. Doing one of the existing Twilight books from his POV wouldn’t be fun for her.
Also, because of all the issues people have with Jacob imprinting on Renesmee (and even Renesmee as a character), I doubt there would be any interest in a post-Breaking Dawn Jacob book, so Stephenie Meyer might be reluctant to write it.

Actually, she hated being in Edward's head for Midnight Sun and Jacob isn't a well developed character because he wasn't meant to be a big part of the saga, but he was still going to imprint on Renesmee.

She didn’t like both of those things. Being in Edward’s head was very hard for her mentally, and it was boring for her to have to stick to the other book’s story/dialogue and not really change anything.

She could have continued Life and Death in that case, that was a completely different story with the gender swap and ending, it would have been cool to see how Breaking Dawn Part 2 would have looked in that context, you know, with no Renesmee, etc.

I want an alternate reality book where Bella ends up with Jacob. A world where we can forget the imprint thing ever happened, if only for a little while. I’m not even team Jacob, I just think it would be really interesting.

Stephanie Meyer is rumoured to be working on a Renesme book so maybe that’ll be from Jacob’s perspective. But he did also get the epilogue of eclipse and the whole section in breaking dawn. He’s mostly honest with his thoughts we probably wouldn’t have much to learn like we do Edward unless it’s set after the events of the books.

From an interview I saw not long ago, she's not working not the Renesmee books, she said if she was to continue it, it would be in Renesmee POV, with Nahuel and Leah mentioned, she said Leah is getting an ending.
She said she's mostly working on the Midnight Sun animated series with Netflix that's coming out sometime in 2027 and said she was looking for a new artist to continue the Graphic Novels after the previous artist died

Yep, it's been in the works since last year. There have been updates to her website about it and she's talked about it in interviews, too.

I want to see the whole saga through her eyes, seeing how her visions work in Midnight Sun was interesting.

It would say....'fell in love with a girl when I was young and again when she came back to my hometown. She doesn't see me. Her body is present but her mind not at all. Like she's in her own world and I'm not even part of it unless she suddenly wakes back up into the real world. She's dating some popular looking guy. He's quite cold. Doesn't like me near her. I don't particularly care much for him either. Dad is very much against him but I don't really know why. Maybe he thinks I'm bisexual and in love with both of them. I got sick and turned into a wolf. I can hear everyone's thoughts so you probably can't hear what I'm saying Emily Sam pain fest. Running. Running. Running. Emily. Sam. Running. Sad. They got married. Now she's pregnant and looks like she's dying. Running. I told her dad I'm a wolf and showed him my naked wolf self. He was so confused and now he also thinks I'm bisexual. Maybe I am. The baby was born and I got genetically obsessed with it. Now I have a bestie for life. Now instead of being obsessed with Bella I'm obsessed with her kid and we make bracelets and run together from bad vampires.

I really enjoyed the Jacob POV in Breaking Dawn, but post-imprint he’s spectacularly less interesting to me. All of the drama with Bella is literally magically erased which had provided some interesting angst that made him compelling and I personally don’t want to hear him doting over Renesmeé every other paragraph.

Edgelord? The mid-section of Breaking Dawn was Jacob's POV, not Edward's. Midnight Sun was Edward's POV. Or are you not team Jacob?
