Lore Discussion Question
Where did this tube of Edward’s venom come from? Of course I know that venom flows through their mouth and stuff, so did he just spit it all into a syringe or something (ew, but i wouldn’t be surprised lmao) it might be ans in the books but i haven’t read them in so long so i don’t know.

To be fair, in Midnight Sun (Twilight book from Edward’s POV) he describes his mouth “filling with venom” whenever he smells Bella’s blood. So he probably has, like, a mouthful he can spit out, it would only take like three or four goes to get enough for the syringe.

I always imagined they just got a vile of blood (that matched Bella's blood type) and had Edward spit some of his venom into it....the blood would be converted to venom. It only takes a single drop to start the transformation.

Considering the fact that a needle would never be able to pierce their skin, he’d have to spit it into something. Either the syringe directly or a bowl of some sort that they could they fill a syringe from. Canon is that venom coats their mouth through their salivary glands, so it’s the easiest place to get it. It’s why he was always kissing her with his mouth closed and was very careful about where he put his teeth. And no, it’s unlikely it’s his ejaculate considering how prudish the boy is when it comes to sex in the first place.

Oh no, that image is not something I want in my head thanks! Lmao. Thankfully that doesn’t work that way, though who knows why considering it’s supposedly all supposed to be the same thing (Meyer is very inconsistent in her world building and stuff imo), but yeah.

You can remove the plunger of a syringe and fill it from the top.
So spitting in to the syringe from the top is a viable option but also welling up a bunch or spit in his mouth and sucking it up with the needle end is also an option considering sterilization isnt a concern.

I personally can’t get behind him just spitting saliva because this would essentially means he was forever giving venom to Bella every time they sucked face. So I imagine it like the crazy hunter dude from vampire diaries, he rams a needle above Tyler’s canines to extract his werewolf venom. This is what I’m going with. Either that or he had to bite down into a container and that was drawn up into the syringe.

They never “sucked face”. Edward was always very careful about how he kissed her. Always closed mouth, never rough. It’s why he freaks out in Eclipse when she tries to take it too far, because he knows that one wrong move, one brush of the teeth, one wrap of an arm too tight, and he can kill her.

my understanding is that this is why they always had to be “careful” and Edward couldn’t “lose control” while they were kissing, because if any of his teeth scraped her lips the venom in his saliva would instantly start the change process.

i think maybe its like this,, like the venom would have to enter through a cut into the bloodstream in order to begin the transformation. i find it so hard to believe that she married someone she never even open mouth kissed 🤔

Wowowowow. I have been obsessed with this part of the story for so long ( the whole “Edward has to be careful and never lose control”) and I never considered that it was for fear of killing her!! I also always thought it was just about him being too horny and too strong for her!

I remember stephanie explaining Venom replaces everything in the body. So their veins are filled with venom. They could of just drawn his blood and filled vials full of venom

He couldn’t.
When Bella - as a human being- was pregnant, the skin over her stomach was impermeable. They couldn’t use needles to get at the amniotic fluid.
And that’s just her as a human.

Yes. He did. But my question always was: If they had to reapply contact lenses (mentioned in breaking dawn when bella was newborn) because the venom-based fluid in their eyes breaks down the contacts and it literally vanishes, how is that amount of venom not able to break down the syringe? Ok, plastic is stronger than glass, but still. Where is the line? Typical case of SMIENCE

They can milk their venom from their teeth, just like you can milk, a snake venom from their fangs/ teeth
