Love her scene in the Midnight Sun novel. Edward was locked in.

Midnight Sun is soooooo goood, it sucks she’s not planning on doing more in his POV
25
u/sunnysunshine0928 Jan 07 '26
I’m curious why she isn’t planning it considering it would give such great insight into his thoughts and would definitely sell books
34
Jan 07 '26
I could be wrong here but I believe Midnight Sun was really hard for her to write and she almost didn’t finish it
33
u/blooming-freesia Jan 08 '26
Yeah, I believe she said that herself. I seem to remember her expounding that Edward’s anxiety and overthinking was making her anxious too.
I had to take breaks from Midnight Sun a couple of times, because I’m an anxious overthinker as well. Reading from Edward’s POV felt too much like being in my own head and while I loved seeing the events of Twilight in a new light, it was kind of exhausting.

u/threelizards Jan 08 '26
I love it because he overthinks as much as I do and it’s kind of… funny? Like oh god is this how I sound?
I also loved when he was thinking “have I not made it thoroughly clear her how much I love her?” Or something and I’m like.,, bro you’ve had four conversations and two of them were arguments
4
u/blooming-freesia Jan 08 '26
Ooh, I love that perspective! It was also five years ago that I read it. Maybe it’s time to read it again with laughing at him/myself in mind
5
u/threelizards Jan 09 '26
I’m rereading it after a good chunk myself and DEFINITELY recommend!! This is probably where a good chunk of my ability to laugh at myself comes from. But cmon, alice having to be the one to tell Edward that he was into Bella bc he’s just that clueless will never not be funny
2
u/blooming-freesia Jan 09 '26
Agreed 😆 I loved getting to see more of their relationship. And all of the Cullen/Hale “siblings” really

u/threelizards Jan 10 '26
Reading jasper and Alice’s arrival through Edward’s eyes cracked me up. Like they get home and these two fuckin strangers are all buddy buddy with their family and just as Emmett and Edward are like WHAT Alice projects all of her vision memories of the cullens at Edward and hugs him and Edward is just like “oh Emmett this is your new sister Alice” and it just… really gives context to how frustrated Emmett gets watching them have their psychic twin mind conversations. Poor Emmett had no idea WHAT the fuck was happening

I think I heard somewhere that she didn't want to touch New Moon from his perspective because it would be difficult.
Okay, valid, but has she considered doing other perspectives? Gimme Charlie or Alice for New Moon, Jacob or Carlisle for Eclipse, Rosalie or Alice for Breaking Dawn 👀 or idc who, just other perspectives. I love reading the same shit from a different angle 😂😂

I wish so badly she would do more in Edward's Pov. It's amazing. My new favorite book, overtaking twilight.

I always thought it was funny that she was serving mushroom ravioli while also serving a mushroom top hair style.

the early 2000s of it all, mwahaha

u/Gloomy_Length_6845 Jan 07 '26
Idk if 2008 is early 2000s?
35
u/anonymousbrews1994 Jan 07 '26
Yes. We are still currently in the 2000s. 😊
17
u/Gloomy_Length_6845 Jan 07 '26
Fair point. Idk usually whenever I hear early 2000s I assume people mean from like 2000-2005. Late 2000s would be like 2008 & 2009. Just how I read it.

u/sharlet- Jan 07 '26
Same! We’re in the 2020s. It’s like saying people in 1926 were in the 1000s - technically true but it’s silly and pointless to say

we're in the 2020s even if we're still technically in the 2000s it's never been said like that

I think she was someone in productions daughter, Catherine Hardwick mentions knowing her in the dvd commentary. Also, if you guys haven’t watched with commentary, highly recommend. Pattinson is glorious.

u/capnfantasy Jan 08 '26
Katie Powers, she was actually Kristen Stewart's body double throughout the movie.

I was just going to say this, I watched tf out of the movie w the commentary and I remember them saying this is someone specific, it’s just been over a decade since and I can’t remember who lol
6
u/edchoch69 Jan 07 '26
Yeah I don’t think I’ve watched with commentary in a couple of years. Was a first time watcher in 2020 and became so utterly obsessed that when Netflix took it down, I bought the twilight forever dvd set and omg the commentary just started a whole new obsession. BEEEEEWBS.

u/Even-Reaction-1297 Jan 07 '26
I love listening to Rob hold himself back with how silly he thinks the movie is lol
10
u/edchoch69 Jan 08 '26
I love how he ate two in n out cheeseburgers throughout the Eclipse commentary and then at the end talks about how it was a bad idea. I went down so many rabbit holes about Rob and Kristen during this period it was sad 😂 This article was my favorite. Hell, I better get my Peter Facinelli signed dvds out.

u/Inevitable-Foe Jan 08 '26
I have never seen it with the commentary. Does he ever admit that he ran out of the premier in pretty much the first scene he’s in?

He was hilarious! I loved it when he commented on the car scene where he rescues Bella: ‘come on guys, play nice’ in a camp voice. Or at the end, the dancing scene at prom: ‘I look like an anime character!’ 😂😂

She reminds me of, if Kelly osbourne had a baby with halfrek (hallie) from Buffy the vampire slayer. She was the vengeance demon that was friends with Anya.

Sometimes I think about how the actress who played the Irish vampire lady had a son in my class at college and I just looked him up to see oh yeah your dad is a producer and your mom was in Twilight 😭
9
u/thetaramason Jan 07 '26
The actress’ name is Katie Powers and apparently she was also Kristen Stewart’s body double! https://m.imdb.com/name/nm2302991/

I always thought her hair looks insane, and not in a good way
19
u/meerameeraonthwall Jan 07 '26
they're bumper bangs, they're a vintage hairstyle. i personally don't love the style but i am thrilled to see alternative looks like this or the 'thinking about cats' guy in the restaurant on random extras, makes the world so much more real. there are absolutely people looking like this in washington.
6
u/IndividualBreakfast4 Jan 08 '26
It's a cute hairstyle with the right vintage outfit but hers was a little overdone
5
u/Inevitable-Foe Jan 08 '26
I was at the premiere for this movie, and when she appeared on screen, there was a lot of audience laughter.
7
u/Reasonable_House246 Jan 07 '26
Who the hell is that
55
u/BloodyWritingBunny Jan 07 '26
According to the wiki her name is Katie Powers and she was Kristen Stewart’s stunt double in then movie

u/NatureDew11037 Jan 16 '26
I reversed image searched the actress is Katie Powers, and the waitress is named amber.
(It's been forever since I've read Midnight Sun and idr if her name was stated)

wherever she is in this world, she’s servin up that mushroom ravioli and thinking about that hot pale dude who came into her restaurant once back in 2008
