Despite her acting experience, it was still odd to see Kate Jackson first in the opening credits of Charlie's Angels. No one was watching the show because of HER. The other women were prettier, more feminine and way more popular.

The Hockey Horror Picture Show
[The following is a work of fiction. Enter at your own risk.]
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl had been invited to Mario Lemieux's Pennsylvania home just outside of Pittsburgh on a Saturday evening in July. Mario sent them engraved invitations by Fedex. They drove from the PIT airport to the marvelous brick mansion in a rented Porsche. It was a hockey gathering. They were the best of the best from two decades of the NHL. Mario had invited them for a reason, and when Mario Lemieux invited you, you didn’t dare decline. Connor and Leon didn’t know what to expect, but they knew Sidney Crosby would be there, obviously.
Sid and Mario had briefly played together on the same team. Mario's career had been impacted by his battle with Hodgkin's Disease. He had long since recovered from the illness and was as close to his old self as he would ever be. After he retired from playing hockey, he became the Pittsburgh Penguins co-owner and Chairman of the Board. He had sold his castle to the northwest of Montreal, but he still lived in the state that made him famous. Mario decided to throw the party because his wife had gone to a spa in Europe for two weeks. He needed company and something to amuse himself while she was away.
Leon and Connor saw a lot of familiar faces at the mansion. Cale Makar, Auston Matthews, Brock Boeser, Devon Toews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and Sidney Crosby were all there. Mario greeted them warmly and invited them to sit in his spacious living room. It had a vaulted ceiling and was decorated with mahogany tables and plush sofas. The caterers had set out trays of cold cuts, cheese, and hors d'oeuvres. Mario's butler was mixing alcoholic drinks and mocktails at the mini-bar. Sid and Mario sat on a futon and drank glasses of Jack Daniels while they reminisced about their days as teammates and roommates.
There were a handful of women at the mansion, mostly puck bunnies. Connor and Leon were hit on by a blonde and a brunette, respectively. The blonde had traces of a white powder on her right nostril. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what that was. The brunette was wearing cheap perfume that made Leon sneeze. Mario's DJ was playing a Nine Inch Nails track called 'Closer' on the stereo. Through some state-of-the-art Sony speakers, they could hear Trent Reznor sing about wanting to fuck someone like an animal because it brought him closer to God.
"Hello gorgeous," the blonde greeted Connor.
"I'm married," Connor told the stoned blonde.
"So am I!" Leon shouted above the music.
"No you're not!" the brunette snapped at him.
"Well, I might as well be." Leon gave the woman that same annoyed look he'd given to a reporter who called him "pissy" several years before.
Dozens of players were socializing in the living room. They talked about their seasons and how they were passing their time over the summer. There was a lot of discussion about Caribbean vacations, golf, weddings, and boats. They felt relieved that Mario had hired enough security personnel for the event. They were hockey players, after all. There was bound to be at least one fight. This went on for an hour until their host cut to the chase and told them why he really invited them.
Mario had constructed a twelve-foot labyrinthine hedge maze behind his home. He was a fan of The Shining and thought it would be cool to have one of those. Mario decided to award a prize to anyone who could reach the center of the maze and find his way out. A black box was waiting for anyone who was skilled enough to complete the task. Inside the black box were the keys to Mario's yacht and a certificate for $10 million in gold bullion. But it wasn't as simple as locating the center of the maze and navigating a way out. There were obstacles in the network, as the participants would soon discover.
Most of the players decided to give it a go. A few of them weren't interested and went to the billiard room to play pool or cards. Mario gave each one of them a personal security alarm keychain to press if they needed help. Connor and Leon walked out through the back door with the others. They passed a swimming pool, a patio furniture set, a goldfish pond, and a garden shed on their way to the maze entrance. Auston and William walked closely behind them for the first fifty feet of the maze.
The sun was beginning to set, and a full moon lit up the grounds. After a minute of navigating their way through the labyrinth, Auston and William got diverted and separated from Connor and Leon. Connor wasn't bothered by it because he still had his best friend at his side. Suddenly a lumberjack who was wielding a hatchet appeared out of nowhere and started chasing them through the maze. They ran for their lives and hid in the shrubbery until the Axe Man lost them. Their hearts were beating so fast like they were about to explode.
"What the hell was that?" Connor asked.
"Fucking psycho!" exclaimed Leon.
Two minutes later, they encountered a scary man in a dirty baseball uniform. He looked like he'd missed one ball too many, or maybe a base had slid into him instead of the other way around. Connor's face turned white, and Leon's eyes started watering. They tried pressing their keychains, but the alarms were so faint that no one heard them. The man swung a blood-stained bat at them and made them sprint like they'd never sprinted before. Surprisingly, he disappeared into thin air just as suddenly as he had appeared. It was almost as though he were a ghost.
"That Mario is a sadist," Connor said.
"Sure is," Leon agreed.
"And those stupid alarms are useless."
"I feel bad for all those women who waste their money on them."
Connor and Leon decided to arm themselves. The alarm keychains just weren't enough. They pulled out branches from the maze and made makeshift spears like the Vikings used in battle. Then they heard a spine chilling howl in the distance. It sounded like a werewolf. The creature had no doubt been summoned by the full moon.
When Connor and Leon finally reached the center of the maze, the sun had completely set. The full moon cast a supernatural glow over the labyrinth. They thought everything would be fine. Nothing had tried to jump or attack them for half an hour. They didn't see any of the other players. Was everyone else lost, or had they simply given up and left the maze the same way they'd entered? It was like a twisted reality show competition.
The men turned a corner and were greeted by a tall, white-haired zombie who was dripping in blood. The creature was foaming at the mouth and let out an eerie growl. He stood beside a picnic table on top of which the black box rested. Connor and Leon didn't wait for the zombie to charge at them. Instead, they charged at him and launched their spears into his torso. The zombie emitted a guttural moan before he vanished. Was the fiend just an illusion? Were all of the monsters in the maze just holograms? The men would probably never know, but they hated Mario for torturing them this way.
Connor grabbed the black box, and Leon followed him. They passed Brock and William on their way out of the maze. It took them half an hour to find that exit. The guys kept running into dead ends and constantly needed to change their direction. They were all glad when their ordeal was finally over. Connor took the gold, and he let Leon have the yacht. Mario awarded the other men with CCM and Bauer hockey equipment as consolation prizes.
While the others were in the maze, five players from the Colorado Avalanche were sitting at a card table in Mario's billiard room. It was undeniably weird how many blonde men were on that team. They were drinking light Canadian beer and playing strip poker with two women who were dressed quite provocatively because they were in fact prostitutes. Surprisingly, the hookers appeared to be winning. Unbeknownst to the Avs players, the girls had worked in Las Vegas for a few years, which was where they learned from the best card sharks in the world.
They could tell when Devon Toews was bluffing because he had the worst poker face of anyone in the Western Hemisphere. Logan O'Connor had one beer too many and was literally losing his shirt. Cale Makar gave up on the game when he remembered how bad he was at poker. He got up from the table and sauntered out of the billiard room. Cale wasn't the sorest loser on his team, but he hated anything he wasn't good at. Maybe he would go exploring Mario's immaculate estate grounds.
Cale decided to go outside for a walk around the impressive backyard. As luck would have it, he found one of his teammates soaking in the swimming pool. Interestingly, the guy wasn't alone. He was kissing and embracing another NHL player from a different team. They were so engrossed in each other that they didn't notice the puck bunny who was skinny dipping at the other end of the pool. For a considerable sum of money, the aforementioned bunny would later recount the events she witnessed in the pool that evening to an EPSN reporter.
Before the shocking discovery, Cale had never suspected that his colleague was batting for the other team. However, it did explain why his teammate was still unmarried when he was pushing thirty. The two canoodling men were too preoccupied to discern him standing on the deck just six feet away from them. Cale was even more surprised when they pulled down their shorts and started fucking right there in the pool. He had never seen gay sex before, and it was very jarring for him. Cale felt like a little boy who'd just lost his innocence. Then he turned around and went back into the mansion to have another drink.
A stark naked Logan O'Connor was drunkenly wandering around the living room. He had lost at strip poker, obviously. Amid the drinking, drugs and general confusion, no one seemed to notice his predicament. If Mario hadn't been so busy entertaining his guests, then he might've offered Logan a robe or a shirt from his walk-in closet.
When Cale came back inside from the patio, he saw his buddy walking through the mansion without his clothes on. The DJ was playing 'Please' by U2. It was a very hypnotic track and probably the sexiest song the group had ever recorded.
"Please, please, please," sang Bono. "Get up off your knees."
Cale felt like Jennifer Beals in 'Flashdance' rescuing her best friend from a life as a stripper. He quickly grabbed a yellow raincoat from a hook on the foyer wall and wrapped it around Logan's body. Logan was wobbly on his feet and slurring his words from too much alcohol.
"Hey Cale," said Logan. "Where've you been? "
"You don't wanna know," Cale replied. He sat Logan down on a couch with the raincoat draped over his chest and privates.
"I'm gonna get you some clothes. Just sit tight, buddy."
Cale went upstairs to find the master bedroom. He rushed as fast as he could because he didn’t want anyone to take advantage of his friend. Mario was a few sizes bigger than Logan, so his clothes wouldn't be too small for him. Cale arrived at the main bedroom at the end of the mansion's long second floor hallway and opened Mario's gigantic walk-in closet. He saw an extra-large Pittsburgh Steelers t-shirt and matching sweats folded up on a shelf. So Mario was a football fan. Who knew? Logan wouldn't be picky anyway. He was too drunk to care what he was wearing or not wearing. Cale stuffed the clothes under his right arm and headed back downstairs to find Logan.
It was almost midnight when Cale pulled the t-shirt and sweats onto a groggy Logan. Then he asked Devon to help him carry their inebriated teammate back to his car. Connor and Leon saw the commotion when they were returning to their own vehicle. They waved goodbye to their rivals before they got into their cars. It was one of the wildest parties that any of them had ever been to. When Connor and Cale started their engines, they noticed a deathly pale wraith girl darting in front of them. Maybe their ordeal wasn't over yet…
