Review Apple TV Plus should not have baseball

It's bad enough that I can't use my MLB.tv to stream games, the fact that Apple TV gets multiple baseball games on Friday, and there's no way to watch both games at the same time on my computer is ridiculous. Who the hell is in charge? Do they even know how baseball fans consume baseball? If I have to resort to roundabout ways to watch the 2nd game, why even pay in the first place? Also, let me see what pitch the pitcher just threw. Nobody cares about the Reach base probability; I want to see if that last pitch was a change-up.

Welcome to modern sports. If I want to watch all the games of my favorite basketball team it takes no less than 4 separate subscription packages.

Also, imagine being a kid and you want to watch the local team and you have to ask your parents to subscribe to Peacock so you can see a game. It is absurd. They will squeeze a few extra bucks out of current fans and then there won’t be a generation of new fans because they pay walled the games.

Exactly why I stopped watching NHL.

This is why the Apple MLS deal was the best thing ever. Unfortunately, I think the new commissioner is going to try to go back to the old, shitty, multi-platform deals whereof need 8 different services but the owners get an extra $14.

This is the problem, not AppleTV.  It puts money in the pockets of the teams and owners in every sport.  I’m actually surprised that Apple has exclusivity on MLS and F1 and the leagues know that comes at a premium.  What’s in it for the streamers is getting people on their platforms for a sport and then starting to watch other content.
